Bruce Springsteen Reaches A New Career Peak — With Some Help From The Killers

Bruce Springsteen earns his highest rankings ever on several U.K. charts with Encore at the Garden, ... More a Record Store Day release with The Killers. Just a week after the music legend earned a modest sales hit across the pond with 'Rain in the River,' he returns with a new collaboration that outperforms its predecessor. The track may not be a traditional single, but it qualifies as such in the U.K., and thanks to that classification, Springsteen reaches new career highs on several tallies. Springsteen's latest charting success is Encore at the Garden, a short release created in tandem with The Killers. The project is being counted as a single in the U.K., even though it is really more of an EP. Encore at the Garden debuts at No. 3 on three different tallies: the Official Singles Sales, Official Physical Singles chart, and Official Vinyl Singles charts. The collection opens as one of the top-selling 'tracks' in the nation, even though the project features several tunes. Encore at the Garden marks a very special milestone for Springsteen. The release gives the legendary rocker his first top 10 hit on the Official Singles Sales chart. Before this week, the highest he'd climbed on that list came in 2022, when 'Do I Love You (Indeed I Do)' peaked at No. 20. Only two other tracks from Springsteen have entered the top 40 on the Official Singles Sales chart. 'Hello Sunshine' reached No. 32, while 'Ghosts' landed one rung lower at No. 33. On the Official Vinyl Singles chart, Encore at the Garden also earns Springsteen a new personal best. The release lands at No. 3, marking his loftiest placement to date. It's not his first time entering the top 10 on that wax-specific ranking, but the project is now his highest-charting effort. Springsteen previously broke into the top 10 with 'Western Stars,' which galloped to No. 5, giving him an early win on the format. His beloved rendition of 'Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town' also reached the list, but so far, it has only made it as high as No. 11. Encore at the Garden was a Record Store Day special, and it's one of the top performers from the music industry initiative. The short live release arrived to coincide with the 2025 edition of the annual event. It features three tracks performed live by Springsteen and The Killers at a Madison Square Garden concert back in October 2022. The set includes performances of 'Badlands,' 'Dustland,' and 'Born to Run,' but until now, fans only had memories and online footage. Until Record Store Day 2025, the guest appearance had never been released commercially, which made this offering that much more thrilling for superfans of both The Killers and Springsteen.

Bruce Springsteen's New Collaborative Project Will Be Released This Month

Bruce Springsteen is getting involved in Record Store Day 2025, and he's not doing so alone. This time, the legendary rocker is teaming up with The Killers for a brand new — and very limited — EP, one that captures a one-of-a-kind moment that many longtime lovers of both bands already know well, even if they weren't there to experience it in person. Encore at the Garden will be released as a 12-inch vinyl, and it's being billed as a Record Store Day exclusive. Only 5,000 copies are being pressed of the EP, so fans will need to move fast to get their hands on a copy of the title. The short, three-song project is centered around Springsteen's surprise appearance during The Killers' show at Madison Square Garden back on October 1, 2022. Those who were in the audience that night surely remember the amazing performance, and thankfully for those who were not at the New York City concert, it's been preserved, and will now be available as an album for the very first time. Side A of the vinyl is set to feature two cuts: 'Badlands,' a staple of Springsteen's catalog that continues to get crowds on their feet decades after its release, and 'Dustland,' a special reworking of The Killers' own 'A Dustland Fairytale' that originally featured Springsteen on the studio version. Side B includes just one track, but it's a special one. 'Born to Run,' perhaps Sprinsteen's most familiar tune, closes the effort. The joint performance itself was a highlight of The Killers' Imploding the Mirage Tour. Springsteen wasn't just the only guest star, as he brought longtime E Street Band collaborator Jake Clemons with him. Record Store Day is a music industry initiative meant to bring people back into independent shops, as well as to celebrate music in its physical form, and this release fits the mission perfectly. Many well-known artists take part, dropping special projects – such as this EP – or offering collectible versions of popular projects on vinyl. The idea is that these projects are only available in brick-and-mortar locations throughout the world, so fans can't jut head to an artist's website or Amazon to buy what they want, they need to go out and support their local record store. Record Store Day 2025 is set to take place on April 12, 2025.
