Runners dress up as aliens for Endurance House's Xpress Run
WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL)— Endurance House hosted its Xpress Run bright and early this morning at Memorial Stadium with an out of this world theme. Runners of all ages and skill levels crowded the starting line for either the 12k, 5k, or the kid's mile. The theme for this year's run was 'super stellar.' Aliens showed up on awards and some participants even dressed up in green to represent a martian. Known for being one of the flattest races around, Cassandra Castro, the manager at Endurance House says it's a great way to start the running season, while also allowing racers to enjoy the perfect weather. 'Because of the weather changing this is one of the first races in the spring and winter season that you can be like, oh, let me see how I'm doing after that cold,' Castro said. 'And so, a lot of people, I think even around here today just kind of just are happy to be out here because they haven't been out all winter.' All proceeds from the event were for the Midwestern State cross-country team. Endurance House hopes to grow the run even more with added support. Future plans include bringing back the half-marathon route and maybe even adding a full marathon. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
