Troopers to serve patrons Wednesday night to raise funds for Camp Cadet
LEWISBURG — The Susquehanna Valley Law Enforcement Camp Cadet program is hosting a fundraiser Wednesday night at Applebee's in Lewisburg.
According to state police spokesperson Sara Barrett the group will be hosting the event from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Lewisburg location as part of the yearly Celebrity Service Night program where troopers work as servers. All tips go toward Camp Cadet.
Barrett said a $10 tip will get a person a coupon toward their next dining experience at the Lewisburg Applebee's.
"It's a win-win donation," she said.
Camp Cadet is a one-week summer youth program for boys and girls between ages 12 and 15 who reside in the Valley.
The program is intended to encourage cadets to build self-esteem, discipline, and team building skills, while spending the week with law enforcement officers, according to officials.
The camp is free to all cadets who attend. The camp is strictly funded by generous donations from local businesses and private citizens throughout the region.
