Phil Foden: I'll ask England to omit me — I've struggled mentally
Phil Foden will ask to sit out the next round of England internationals so he can rest his injured ankle and mentally reset after a challenging season in which he has been affected by off-field issues.
Speaking candidly, Foden revealed an ankle injury that has been troubling him since he was tackled by Casemiro while playing for Manchester City against Manchester United six weeks ago has contributed to him being unable to match his performances from last season, when he won the PFA player of the year award.
