Driving Innovation and Connection: Covia's Impact at Recent Industry Events

Over the last several weeks, Covia has played an active role in several significant industry conferences and tradeshows. These events demonstrate Covia's dedication to our customers, communities, and other important partners. They also provide opportunities for our team members to learn from industry experts, share best practices, showcase our cutting-edge technologies, and develop valuable new skills. As you will see, Covia continues to be a key contributor to the industry's evolution, reinforcing our position as a leader. Essential Minerals Association 2025 Annual Conference Andy O'Brien, Senior Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety, and Mona Legin, Ergonomics Specialist, represented Covia as invited speakers at this year's annual Essential Minerals Association conference. They emphasized the company's commitment to improving the health and safety of miners in the industry. Andy discussed the implementation of DustShield technology, which is designed to prevent overexposure to respirable crystalline silica (RCS) during screen changes. He illustrated its potential for adoption throughout processing stages and its ability to significantly reduce RCS levels. Mona concentrated on Covia's adoption of Soter Analytics technology, illustrating how wearable sensors and video evaluations detect ergonomic hazards, promote safer practices, and diminish reportable injury incidents. Covia was pleased to participate in the conference and engage with industry experts, which helped enhance our insight into the essential minerals sector. Eastern Coatings Show 2025 This week, Covia participated in the Eastern Coatings Show, an event that brings together leaders in coatings innovation. Covia's Senior Technology Manager, Scott Van Remortel, presented his technical paper titled 'Surface Treated Nepheline Syenite for Enhanced Performance in Industrial Coatings.' Applications data showing improved performance of industrial maintenance floor and general industrial top coats with nepheline syenite fillers treated with silane coupling agents will be presented. This new technology for both solvent and waterborne floor coatings and solvent-borne top coats will provide the formulators with low silica formulations that deliver higher filler loading, gloss retention, water, chemical and corrosion resistance. We were pleased to be among a respected group of presenters demonstrating how advanced mineral technology improves performance, durability, and sustainability in industrial coatings. Project Control Summit 2025: Navigating the Future of Project Controls Covia's Project Management Department participated in the Project Controls Summit to expand our project managers' knowledge of project controls. The Summit is the largest global gathering of project controls professionals. The summit fosters an environment in which project controls professionals and practitioners can engage in educational sessions focused on key sub-disciplines, including earned value management, change management, cost estimating and scheduling, contracting, and technology and innovation. Covia's participation aimed to expand Project Managers' knowledge of the Project Controls discipline, equipping them with the tools necessary to execute capital projects at Covia with optimal performance. The team gained valuable insights and established connections within the project controls community. They are eager to apply these learnings to improve project execution at Covia. Locus Technologies Releases Service Order Management App

Enterprises boost productivity, reduce costs, and capitalize on AI-driven insights MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 27, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Locus Technologies, the sustainability and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) compliance software leader, announced the release of its Locus Service Order Management (SOM) app, a user-configurable software-as-a-service (SaaS) to help complex organizations efficiently manage any work order lifecycle and streamline any service workflow with transparency, auditability, and AI modeling. The Locus Service Order Management app automates the scheduling, dispatching, and tracking of service tasks for any department, from inception to closure, all within a single unified platform. Locus SOM integrates with 30+ purpose-built apps in the Locus ecosystem, enabling seamless integration with adjacent apps for service order-centric initiatives, such as EHS and water compliance, incident response, and asset management. 'Locus Service Order Management is the missing piece for organizations looking to streamline field operations and compliance response without adding another disconnected system,' said Neno Duplan, founder and CEO of Locus Technologies. 'It makes little sense for customers to license and manage standalone service order software when they can use our fully integrated, AI-ready platform to initiate, track, and document corrective actions—whether responding to a water compliance alert, a refrigerant leak, or any other field event—directly from within the same system they already use to manage environmental data.' Locus SOM includes end-to-end workflow automation, dashboards and reports, process analytics, field service management (FSM), tasking, notifications, routing/territory planning, asset and equipment management, incident management, and corrective action tracking. All Locus apps are metadata-driven, which empowers users to configure the interfaces and workflows within Locus Service Order Management to meet the needs of any department, from compliance to customer service and ITSM. 'There's no limit to the types of business processes our customers can manage with Locus Service Orders; it could be equipment maintenance or service outages. The app flexes to any use case,' said Duplan. All Locus software is delivered via a multitenant cloud that centralizes and secures customers' data, enabling scalability and AI that continually improves as the collective data grows. 'The Locus Service Order app improves service delivery and reduces operational costs through the efficient, automated management of work orders and the generation of insights to optimize workforces and transform processes,' said Duplan. Locus Technologies Reaches PFAS Tracking Milestone with 3 Million Records

Becomes Largest Real-time Database of Global PFAS Records from Nearly 40,000 Locations MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., April 09, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Locus Technologies, the leader in sustainability and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) compliance software, announced that as of today, Locus clients have collectively contributed 3,000,000 validated Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) records to the company's environmental database, making it the most extensive real-time, aggregated global analytical and geospatial PFAS information source. The records are secured in Locus's sophisticated, multitenant SaaS database. Locus's expansive PFAS dataset includes all 430 chemicals identified in the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) PFAS inventory, collected from 38,553 global sites, predominantly in the United States. By combining advanced geographic information system (GIS) tools and artificial intelligence (AI)-driven analytics, Locus provides unmatched capabilities for identifying contamination sources, tracking environmental accumulations in water, soil, and living organisms, and visualizing critical "hot spots" for strategic remediation. "This milestone underscores our commitment to advancing environmental safety through technology innovation," said Neno Duplan, founder and CEO of Locus Technologies. "Our multitenant SaaS infrastructure uniquely positions Locus as the only platform capable of aggregating, analyzing, and reporting critical PFAS data in real-time. With three million records, we've reached an unprecedented capability for understanding and managing this global health threat." Locus Technologies' multitenant SaaS platform enables individual organizations to securely manage and report their PFAS sampling data and compliance requirements while gaining broader insights from aggregated data. The company's unique software architecture empowers clients to stay ahead of stringent regulatory frameworks, including emerging EU directives and global ESG reporting demands, while ensuring the absolute privacy of their proprietary information. 'Emerging research indicates the PFAS health crisis will be more significant than Asbestos, lead, and tobacco combined. Empowering organizations to effectively track and manage this data is imperative,' said Duplan. By leveraging the real-time analytical power of Locus, utilities, government agencies, and enterprises can proactively manage PFAS risks, streamline regulatory compliance, and safeguard public health and environmental ecosystems worldwide.
