Abilene community gathers for heartfelt hospice tribute
ABILENE, Texas () – The hospice of the Big Country had a butterfly release honoring loved ones in Abilene.
The community gathered in solidarity with prayers and songs for their loved ones at the Big Country Hospice Event today.
One of the main participants at the event, Eric Logan has sung professionally for 30 years and sung at the event. Through Logan's past, he mentioned what it meant to him.
Logan's mom was a hospice volunteer and died last year, and expressed that it was an honor to be invited back after her passing. Sharing and hopefully bringing some emotion and meaning to this celebration. Logan's mom died from a routine procedure and was able to die without feeling any pain.
Logan then shared what this hospice event meant to him.
'I sang at last year's butterfly release and it was difficult since last year since the passing of my mom was so fresh. This year was a little bit easier, a little bit more comfort. But, I think this is a wonderful celebration to come an celebrate together as a family,' Logan said.
