French St. parking garage goes cashless
If you plan to park in a public garage before attending a game or show put on by Erie Events, be sure to bring your credit card.
In the past, the garage off French Street accepted $5 cash for event parking.

But over the last month, that policy has changed. Now, only credit cards are accepted.
The policy is in line with Erie Event's policy to accept only credit cards for transactions within its venues.
That's according to the executive director of the Erie Parking Authority who said they've upgraded their technology as well.

What we've done to make sure that we can expedite that is brought in the tap function to our machines. Previously it used to be just the MAC stripe that you had to insert and pull out but now with the tap function it allows you to just tap and go,' said Christopher Friday, executive director of the Erie Parking Authority.
Friday acknowledged customers are getting used to the new process. He encourages visitors to come early and have their credit cards ready to keep traffic moving smoothly.
