Escorts Kubota Tractor sales rise marginally to 10,354 units in May 2025
By Aman Shukla Published on June 1, 2025, 14:49 IST Escorts Kubota Limited's Agri Machinery Business Division reported tractor sales of 10,354 units in May 2025, showing a marginal increase over the 10,286 units sold in May 2024. Despite the overall growth being modest, a shift in the domestic and export market dynamics is evident. In the domestic market, tractor sales stood at 9,703 units in May 2025, slightly lower than the 9,906 units recorded in the same month last year. The decline of 2% is attributed to a high base and market adjustments. However, the timely onset of the monsoon has brought optimism to the agricultural sector. With preparations underway for the Kharif crop season, expectations remain positive due to an above-normal monsoon forecast, healthy water reservoir levels, and improved liquidity conditions across rural markets. Export sales presented a more robust picture. Tractor exports surged to 651 units in May 2025, marking a 71.3% growth compared to 380 units in May 2024. This strong export performance contributed significantly to maintaining the overall growth momentum for the company during the month. For the cumulative period of April to May 2025 (the first two months of FY26), total tractor sales stood at 19,083 units, slightly below the 19,125 units sold in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Domestic sales during this period reached 17,851 units, down 3% from 18,398 units a year earlier. Meanwhile, export volumes for the same two-month period rose to 1,232 units from 727 units, reflecting a 69.5% increase. Overall, Escorts Kubota Limited's performance in May 2025 indicates stable market conditions, with export growth playing a critical role in offsetting the slight decline in domestic sales. The company remains aligned with agricultural trends and seasonal dynamics, with the upcoming monsoon expected to support future demand in the rural sector. Why Amitabh Bachchan's granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda found tractors more exciting than Bollywood stardom
Navya Naveli Nanda , the granddaughter of Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, has deliberately stepped away from the limelight of the film industry. Unlike her brother Agastya Nanda, who made his acting debut in Zoya Akhtar's 2023 Netflix film The Archies, Navya chose to pursue a career in entrepreneurship. In an interview with Elle India, Navya revealed that her childhood in Delhi played a major role in shaping her interests. She said, 'I grew up in Delhi, so a large part of my childhood was spent watching and listening to my father talk about business, and more specifically, tractors. From a very young age, that is what excited me. I never wanted to join films; I wanted to be an entrepreneur.' Her father, Nikhil Nanda, is the Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Kubota Limited, a company focused on agricultural and construction machinery. Rejecting Industry Pressure, Embracing Heritage Despite being born into one of India's most iconic film families, Navya emphasized that her background has never been a source of pressure. 'Absolutely nothing about where I come from, or who I am, or who my family is has ever been and will ever be a weight. It has only given me immense pride to belong to where I do. I carry each and every aspect of it with pride, and more importantly, responsibility. All I do is to make my family proud,' she said. Navya Naveli opens up on not choosing films as career like brother Agastya: ‘Spent childhood listening to my father talk about tractors'
Navya Naveli Nanda, the granddaughter of megastar Amitabh Bachchan and veteran actor Jaya Bachchan, chose not to be an actor. In fact, she's not even remotely associated with the film industry, just like her parents — Nikhil Nanda and Shweta Bachchan — but unlike her brother Agastya Nanda, who made his acting debut a couple of years ago. 'I grew up in Delhi, so a large part of my childhood was spent watching and listening to my father talk about business, and more specifically, tractors. From a very young age, that is what excited me. I never wanted to join films; I wanted to be an entrepreneur,' said Navya. Her father Nikhil Nanda, based out of Delhi, is the Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Kubota Limited, an engineering MNC which specializes in agricultural, construction and railways equipment and machinery. In the interview with Elle, Navya added, 'Absolutely nothing about where I come from, or who I am, or who my family is has ever been and will ever be a weight. It has only given me immense pride to belong to where I do. I carry each and every aspect of it with pride, and more importantly, responsibility. All I do is to make my family proud.' Navya, however, claims she acknowledges her privilege and tries to make the best use of it. 'I have always accepted the privilege I come from. It has allowed me to be who I am today. I am accepting of the fact that I was given many opportunities at a very young age that have allowed me to be where I am today, and for that, I will always be grateful. Making the most of those opportunities and doing justice to them is all that matters — giving it the best you can and not taking it for granted,' she said. A 27-year-old entrepreneur, Navya not only helps out her father in his business, but also runs a healthcare brand called Navya Care and an NGO on gender rights called Project Naveli. After spending most of her day working on these ventures, Navya spends four hours in the evening studying for her Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP) at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. Navya also hosts a podcast called What The Hell Navya on which she appears alongside Shweta and Jaya Bachchan. 'I think both of them have taught me the fine balance between strength and vulnerability. Both mom and Nani have never shied away from being who they are: confident and bold. They embody the kind of woman I would hope to shape into one day,' she said.
