Menys Turisme Més Vida (Less Tourism, More Life), a Spanish campaign group, is organising another protest in Palma, Mallorca, on June 15 to demand an end to the 'touristification' of their communities.
The protest aims to address issues such as rising housing prices, environmental impact, and exploitation of workers, which the group attributes to overtourism.
Last year's protest saw around 10,000 participants, and this year's event will include 60 anti- tourism groups, trade unions, and environmental organisations.
The group is calling for limits on tourism and a strategy that protects local resources and residents' needs, criticising the tourism sector for misleading claims of sustainability.
Menys Turisme Més Vida clarified that they are not against tourism but want to prevent Mallorca from becoming a 'theme park open 24 hours a day,' advocating for responsible and sustainable tourism practices.
