Suspects wanted in Essa Twp. booze heist
Police are asking the public to help identify suspect one. Tue., June 3, 2025. Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police are seeking the public's help in identifying two people involved in an alcohol theft. Police were called to 7 Commerce Road in Essa Township at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. Two people entered the store and took two bottles of alcohol worth $120 before leaving the store without paying. Open liquor in the car adds to driver's charges
A single-vehicle crash on 25th Side Road in Essa Township led to impaired driving charges. Provincial police responded to a call for assistance at around 5 p.m. Friday. Police determined the driver of the vehicle was impaired and charged a 47-year-old Clearview man with impaired driving charges, as well as failing to surrender his licence and driving with an open container of liquor. The Clearview man is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on June 19 to answer to the charge. His driver's licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. If you suspect that someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, call 911 to report it.
