MG sells 6,304 units in May 25 recording 40% growth
JSW MG Motor India reported sales of 6,304 units in May 2025, marking a 40% year-on-year growth over the 4,510 units sold in the same month last year. This surge in demand is largely attributed to the overwhelming response to the newly launched Pro variants of its electric vehicle, the company recently expanded its EV portfolio with the introduction of two new variants—Essence Pro and Exclusive Pro—under the Windsor Pro series. Equipped with a larger 52.9kWh battery pack, these variants deliver a certified range of 449km on a single charge. The top-spec Essence Pro offers premium features like Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging capabilities, elevating both safety and convenience for EV MG Windsor continues to dominate as India's best-selling electric car, cementing JSW MG Motor India's position as a serious contender in the EV space. The Windsor's success also validates the brand's innovative approach, including initiatives like Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), which offers flexible battery rental options to EV buyers. MG Windsor Pro now available in lower Exclusive variant, priced at ₹17.25 lakh
The new MG Windsor Exclusive Pro variant is about ₹85,000 cheaper than the top-spec Essence Pro variant that was launched just days earlier Check Offers JSW MG Motor India has added a new variant to the Windsor Pro lineup bringing the model at a more affordable price point. The new MG Windsor Pro is now offered in the 'Exclusive' variant, priced at ₹ 17.25 lakh (ex-showroom) for the fixed battery option. Meanwhile, buyers opting for the Battery as a Service (BaaS) option will pay an upfront cost of ₹ 12.24 lakh along with a battery rental cost of ₹ 4.5 per km. Bookings are now open for the new Exclusive Pro trim. MG Windsor Exclusive Pro: What's on offer? The new MG Windsor Exclusive Pro is about ₹ 85,000 more affordable than the top-spec Essence Pro variant. The lower variant misses out on a few features including Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), an electrically operable tailgate, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging functions, and more. However, the Windsor Exclusive Pro retains the beige and black interior, new diamond-cut alloy wheels, and the bigger 52.9 kWh battery pack. With the top variant now established, we are expanding accessibility of the MG Windsor by introducing the Exclusive Pro variant, offering a larger battery pack alongside premium comfort and convenience. This move is intended to bring the MG Windsor PRO closer to more customers." MG Windsor Exclusive Pro: Features The bigger battery pack promises a range of 449 km on a single charge on the new MG Windsor Pro variants. It also comes with faster charging up from 45 kW to 60 kW. Other features that have been carried over include the electrically adjustable driver's seat, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, a nine-speaker audio system, reclining rear seats up to 135 degrees, and connected car technology with over 80 features. The new MG Windsor Exclusive Pro aims to make the larger battery pack more accessible to customers, especially those that can make do without Level 2 ADAS and the fancier electric tailgate. MG Windsor EV Exclusive Pro Variant Launched In India; Check Price
JSW MG Motor India has launched a new variant for the Windsor EV in the Indian market. Called the Exclusive Pro, this variant will be available at a starting price of Rs 17.24 lakh (ex-showroom). With the option of battery-as-a-service (BaaS), this price can be brought down to Rs 12.24 lakh (ex-showroom) with Rs 4.5 km subscription fees. The new variant is now available for booking at dealerships of the brand for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Meanwhile, the deliveries will commence in the first week of June. This is more than the standard 38 kWh battery pack, which offers a range of 332 km on a single charge. Before the launch of the Exclusive Pro, only the Essence Pro variant had a 52.9 kWh battery pack. The Exclusive Pro variant of the electric vehicle will come with dual-tone ivory and black interiors, packed with features like a 15.6-inch infotainment system, a speaker sound system, AI-based voice commands, a glass sunroof, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging, electrically adjustable driver seat, and connected car features. The variant will come equipped with 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. This will be complemented by three paint scheme options, including Pearl White, Starry Black, and Turquoise Green. MG Windsor EV vs rivals: How it compares on price with other electric SUVs
The MG Windsor EV range was recently refreshed with the launch of a new model - Windsor EV Pro. Offered as the flagship variant, the Windsor EV Pro comes with a bigger 52.9 kWh battery pack and has limited additional convenience features like vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-load, and safety features like ADAS level 2. The Windsor EV went on sale in September 2024. The MG Windsor EV comes in four variants- Excite, Exclusive, Essence and Essence Pro. Although the initial prices of the EV with BaaS used to begin at ₹9.99 lakh with ₹3.5 per km, due to the price revision, the prices of the EV are unchanged, however, the prices of BaaS have increased to ₹3.9 per km. In the meanwhile, the new pro variant has a price of ₹13.10 lakh with ₹4.5 per km in case of BaaS.
