World's largest Etch A Sketch, Star Wars collectibles, toys coming to Tacoma museum
A new exhibit opening March 13 at the Washington State History Museum will feature the world's largest Etch A sketch, a retro '80s arcade, LEGO play area and collection of nostalgic toys.
The 'Toytopia' exhibition will be on view until June 5 and celebrates 'your favorite childhood moments through a hands-on interactive world of toys,' according to a Tuesday press release.
Among the toys on display are Star Wars collectibles, a huge electronic floor piano, a life-size doll house, a life-size Monopoly car and game board, a LEGO wall, tin toys, Furbys, large-scale versions of Battleship and Connect 4, Easy Bake Ovens, Lincoln Logs and jump ropes.
Since exhibiting in 2005, more than 2 million people have enjoyed the exhibit worldwide, according to the museum.
▪ Admission is free for members; $17 for adults; $14 for seniors (age 65+) and military members with ID; $11 for students (age 6-17). Every third Thursday museum admission is free after 3 p.m.
