One injured, suspect still at large following Monday afternoon shooting in Midwest City
MIDWEST CITY — Police are still searching for a suspect following a shooting near Northeast 10 Street and Air Depot Boulevard in Midwest City, according to reports from News 9 and KOCO. Both stations reported that police responded to a shooting that injured one man on Monday, May 26. The Oklahoman reached out to the Midwest City Police Department to verify details and obtain updated information about the incident, but had not received a response at the time of publication. KOCO reported that a fight occurred at the location earlier in the day, and a person involved in that fight returned with a gun and shot someone in the arm before fleeing the scene, according to Midwest City Police. According to News 9, Midwest City Police cited a "disturbance," but could not give an more details on what led to the shooting. The injured man initially left the scene before being stopped by police, then EMSA took him to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to News 9 reports. At this time, there is no description of the suspect and they are still at large, according to KOCO and News 9. The shooting comes just three days after 21-year-old Ethan Buycks was killed in a shooting at a high school graduation party on a street just a few blocks away in Midwest City. Homicide investigation underway after Midwest City party shooting
MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (KFOR) — A homicide investigation is underway following the death of a 21-year-old in a shooting Friday night in Midwest City. According to the Midwest City Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunshots being heard in the 3300 block of N. Oak Grove at around 10:20 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived, numerous people were seen running down the street and leaving in vehicles. Police found one victim who was lying in the front yard of a home with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, officials say. ORIGINAL STORY: One dead in Midwest City pool party shooting Officers performed life-saving measures on the victim before they were transported to OU Medical, where they were pronounced dead upon arrival. Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Ethan Buycks of Oklahoma City. Authorities learned while investigating that there was an open invitation pool party for high school graduates in the area, where as many as 100 people attended the party. Detectives and investigators questioned residents in the neighborhood, the department says. There is no confirmed suspect description at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det.
