Victims praised for coming forward as Paisley rapist convicted for "abhorrent" crimes
Steven Agnew was found guilty of committing offences, including rape, against two female victims in the Johnstone and Glasgow areas between November 2020 and December 2021.
A Paisley beast has been convicted for committing 'abhorrent' serious sexual offences.
Steven Agnew was found guilty at the High Court in Glasgow on charges including rape against two female victims in Johnstone and Glasgow.
The 21-year-old committed the crimes between November 2020 and December 2021. He is to be sentenced on Tuesday, July 8.
Detective inspector Euan McMillan, from Police Scotland, praised the two victims for coming forward and said the conviction was possible thanks to them.
He added: 'Steven Agnew is now facing the consequences of the harm he caused through his abhorrent actions.
'This outcome was made possible thanks to the two victims who came forward and reported him. We hope this conviction provides some form of closure and helps them to move forward.
'Police Scotland remains committed to investigating all reports of sexual crime. Anyone who comes forward will be treated with professionalism and supported by specially trained officers and partner agencies.
'There is no time limit on reporting, regardless of when it happened, please contact us so we can fully investigate.'
