Eric Church performs new music from 'Evangeline vs. The Machine' at ACM Awards 2025

Eric Church's performance of "Hands of Time" at the 60th annual Academy of Country Music Awards came just after the May 2 release of "Evangeline vs. The Machine," the most ambitious album of his storied career. Clad in a brown leather jacket and his trademark Ray-Ban sunglasses, Church delivered a rousing performance of the album's first single. The eight-track album features the accompaniment of a symphony-style orchestra, gospel choir and swampy, rock-style instrumentation. "Hands of Time" is the most solo-empowered and award-stage ready of the album's tracks. Notably, it name-checks artists who have inspired his latest, plus his eight prior critically-acclaimed releases, including Waylon Jennings, Tom Petty, Bob Seger and Frank Sinatra. Church said that the album celebrates artists' perpetual struggle against the music industry's fear-driven desire to make risk-averse music that "denies the faith artists need to have in their creative spirit to feel artistically or commercially fulfilled," in a press release. "Creativity is untamable and often requires faith for it to show itself. The Machine will often whisper, or even scream, doubt. Yet, the rewards were evident every time I stayed true to this path. An artist, musician, songwriter, or peer sending me a text, calling me, or stopping me somewhere in person and telling me (the risks I take) inspired don't think they could ever get away with that same risk themselves. The real truth is that they absolutely can and they absolutely should." Since its release, "Hands of Time" has climbed into the Top 30 at country radio after receiving Church's career-best 135 first-week station rotation additions. Church will also bring "Evangeline vs. The Machine" on the road to fans in arenas nationwide with his Free the Machine Tour. Tickets to most shows are available to the general public beginning May 9 at 10 a.m. local time (with the Philadelphia date on sale May 16). Eric Church is returning to Resch Center, where he has 7 sellouts and counting, for Free the Machine Tour

Eric Church will look to make it eight in a row — Resch Center sellouts, that is — when he returns to Green Bay for his Free the Machine Tour. The country singer, who has the distinction of playing back-to-back nights twice at the arena, will return for one night only on Sept. 25. Guest artist is the Marcus King Band. Support acts for other dates on the tour, which runs Sept. 12 through Nov. 15, are either Elle King or Charles Wesley Godwin. Eric Church will return to the Resch Center in Ashwaubenon on Sept. 25 for his Free the Machine Tour. He's been a quick sellout at the arena ever since his first visit there in 2012. "From front to back, the shows will be different than anything you've ever seen or heard from us before," Church said in an email blast that went out to Church Choir fan club members on April 30. The tour supports Church's eighth studio album, 'Evangeline vs. The Machine." The eight-song project drops on May 2 and features strings, horns and a chorus. It's his first album since 2021's 'Heart & Soul' trilogy. The Resch Center concert is the sixth stop of the tour and comes the night before he plays Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, which has roughly double the capacity of the Resch at around 18,000. Green Bay is among the smallest of the 22 cities to land a visit on the tour. There are two presales ahead of the public on-sale May 9 Tickets go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. May 9 through TicketStar at only. Per request of the tour, there will be no box office or phone sales until the day after the event goes on sale, according to the TicketStar website. Prices start at $87. Aisle pairs are $20 more per ticket in the front and lower bowl and $10 more in the upper rear bowl. There's a six-ticket limit per household. Premium members of the Church Choir will have early access to tickets through the Church Choir presale beginning at 10 a.m. May 5. 'I want some things that make them go 'whoa I didn't think we were going there.' As an artist, I think that's your job.' On that note, he shared 'from front to back, these shows will be different than anything you've ever seen or heard from us before. I cannot wait to see you on the road for this tour' with his Church Choir fan club members. In addition to the tour, the four-time CMA Awards winner is also slated to headline a pair of festivals this summer and fall. 'Thunder Road / Springsteen' Eric Church new music Prior to the release of 'Evangeline vs. The Machine,' Church has dropped a pair of singles to tease fans. Up first, he unveiled the stirring 'Darkest Hour' dedicated to victims of Hurricane Helene. The song is an earnest, thoughtful and ultimately hopeful exploration of how victims should always find a silver lining even when things seem bleaker than ever. Then, this past March, Church shared the laid-back 'Hands Of Time,' that sounds ripped from a country-fried classic rock album. Snazzy guitars, twangy vocals and sneaky horns all make for a punchy listening experience. We expect this one to be a major crowd-pleaser come September. Eric Church special guests At all shows, Church will be joined by an impressive opening act. In the off-chance you're not familiar with the three artists he's tapped to kick gigs off, you can find each of their most-streamed songs on Spotify below.
