Suspect identified in Battle Ground double homicide
PORTLAND, Ore. () — A man who is in critical condition at a hospital has been identified as a suspect in a double homicide in Battle Ground, authorities said.
On Tuesday, the Battle Ground Police Department said officers found two people — a man and a woman in their late 30s — dead inside a residence on Northeast 2nd Avenue.

Officials signaled the deaths were and that a third person was sent to the hospital in critical condition.
Evario 'Junior' Vela, 40, is now being identified as the suspect in the deaths of both individuals, police said. He's still in the hospital and there is no update on his condition.
The Clark County Medical Examiner's Office will have more information about the identities of the victims and the cause and manner of their deaths after the next of kin are notified, officials said.
The bodies and the injured suspect were discovered in a new home in Battle Ground, which hasn't had a homicide in five years, police said.
