Lions Dash Hopes Of A Florida Four-Peat, Eliminate Everblades From Eastern Conference Finals
For the second time in the last four post-seasons, the Florida Everblades faced elimination. The first time occurred in 2024, when they fought back from a 3-1 deficit in the South Division Semifinals to overcome the Jacksonville Icemen. This time, Florida trailed the Trois-Rivieres Lions 3-2 in the Eastern Conference Finals heading into Game 6 Tuesday evening. A comeback would not be in the cards on this night. Justin Ducharme and Tyler Hylland each scored a pair of goals, while goaltender Luke Cavallin kept Florida off the scoresheet in a 6-0 victory in Estero. Trois-Rivieres takes the Eastern Conference Finals in six games, ending the Everblades' bid for a Kelly Cup four-peat. Knowing they needed to get off to a good start, Florida came out aggressively early in the opening period, getting the first two shots on goal. While neither were high-quality chances, Lions goaltender Luke Cavallin was up to the task, turning away each one. Anthony Beauregard had a chance to put the Lions on the board first, but Everblades netminder Cam Johnson kept it out of the net. The Lions lit the lamp first at the 15:34 mark on a Ducharme net-front goal. It was the fifth time in the six games of this series and 14th in 16 post-season contests Trois-Rivieres scored first. The score remained that way through the first 20 minutes, with the Lions also leading in the shot category 7-6. Neither team drew a penalty in the first period. That changed less than two minutes into the middle frame, when Colton Hargrove was called for the game's first penalty, putting the Lions on the power play. However, Florida effectively killed off the penalty without allowing a shot. The Everblades had a flurry of shots during one series seven minutes in, but Cavallin was rock-solid, denying each one. Those failed opportunities seemed to inject some energy into Trois-Rivieres. At 10:42, Ducharme struck again, this time on a breakaway. He got behind the Florida defense and went five-hole on Johnson. Just 18 seconds later, Alex Beaucage tallied his ninth goal of the post-season for a 3-0 Lions lead, sending the Hertz Arena crowd into stunned silence. It was the largest lead by any team in the series and the biggest deficit the Everblades have faced this post-season. The Everblades' Isaac Nurse went to the sin bin for high sticking at 18:21 of the middle frame. The penalty carried into the third period with the 3-0 deficit and their season on the ropes. If anyone had firsthand knowledge that Florida was capable of a comeback, it would be Trois-rivieres. The Everblades trailed 2-0 after 40 minutes in Game 3 before scoring four unanswered goals to win. As the third period got underway in Game 6, the Lions had two chances to score on the power play, but Johnson helped his team kill off the penalty. The Everblades finally got their first chance on the man advantage at 2:18 of the third, but even that couldn't change their bad mojo. Tyler Hylland's initial shot was stopped by Johnson, but the rebound managed to trickle behind him into the net for a 4-0 Lions lead. That freak goal proved to be the back-breaker for the Everblades. They sent Cam Johnson to the bench for the sixth attacker at the 13:34 mark, but to no avail. Trois-Rivieres went into shutdown mode, with Cavallin keeping Florida off the scoreboard for the second time in the series. Hylland scored an empty-netter for his second goal of the night, and Tommy cormier added his first professional playoff goal to secure the 6-0 final score. The Lions took the Eastern Conference Finals 4-2, ending Florida's bid for a fourth straight Kelly Cup. Trois-Rivieres will face the Toledo Walleye in the Cup Final

Everblades Even Eastern Conference Finals At 2-2
The Eastern Conference Finals is now a brand-new series. After dropping the first two games in Estero, the Florida Everblades have taken the last two in Trois-Rivieres to even the best-of-seven series with the Lions at 2-2. Their latest victory was a 4-0 shutout Friday night in front of a sold-out crowd of 4,462 at Colisee Videotron. It's no surprise the three-time defending Kelly Cup champs are refusing to go down without a fight. They picked up right where they left off from Game 3, when they roared back from a 2-0 deficit to score four unanswered goals in the third period. For the first time in the series, Florida struck first. Two nights after Alex Kile registered four third-period points, two other Kyles, Neuber and Betts, scored a pair of first-period goals for a 2-0 Everblades lead. Neuber's was his second goal of the series and the post-season, and it came at the 6:27 mark. Betts' fifth of the playoffs came on the power play just over seven minutes later. Isaac Nurse gave Florida its biggest lead of the series in the middle frame, as his second goal of the post-season made the score 3-0 at the 7:26 mark. Luke Cavallin made a number of key saves to keep the game where it was, but the Lions decided to exercise a mercy pull, removing him to begin the third period in favor of Hunter Jones. Florida added one more goal, as Craig Needham blasted home the Blades' second power-play goal of the night to extend the lead to 4-0 just 3:32 into the final frame. That's how the game ended, as the Everblades have now ensured there will be a Game 6 in Estero. Besides the four different goal scorers, Logan Lambdin was a force in the playmaking department, recording assists on the Betts and Nurse goals for a two-point night. Cam Johnson, who is third in the post-season with a 1.49 goals-against average, stopped all 30 shots he faced, with 16 of those coming in the final period. It was Johnson's second clean sheet of the playoffs and 13th of his ECHL post-season career. The Lions can still get control of the series at home, with Game 5 taking place Saturday afternoon in Trois-Rivières. Puck drop is set for 3 Pm ET. Game 6 will be at Hertz Arena in Estero Tuesday night, with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 Pm ET. Florida would also host a Game 7 if necessary Wednesday at that same time.

Cavallin's Standout Goaltending Gives Lions Early Lead Over Everblades In Eastern Conference Finals
As expected, Game 1 of the Kelly Cup Eastern Conference Finals between the Florida Everblades and Trois-Rivieres Lions featured low scoring and great goaltending. In the end, the Lions prevailed over the three-time defending Kelly Cup Champions 1-0 to grab the opening game of the best-of-seven series. The first period of this long-awaited matchup was tightly contested. Both clubs had a power-play opportunity but were unable to convert. Goaltenders Luke Cavallin and Cam Johnson were sharp early, stopping 7 and 5 shots respectively. The second period was just as quiet until just before the halfway mark, although Florida outshot the Lions 16-2. But it was Kyle Havlena who scored his first goal as a Lion on Trois-Rivières' first shot of the period for a 1-0 lead. Cavallin didn't flinch as the Everblades continued to fire shots at him. The Lions' netminder also got help from his defense. Wyatt McLeod blocked two point-blank shots late in the frame to preserve the lead. The Everblades didn't win three consecutive Kelly Cup titles by giving in. They continued to press in the third period, but the Lions' skaters delivered a complete defensive effort to protect the narrow one-goal lead. Cavallin secured his second shutout of the postseason, turning away every attempt and sealing a critical Game 1 win on the road. Cam Johnson took the tough loss, stopping 11 of the 12 shots he faced. The two teams hadn't played each other since March 2023, and set the stage for what should be an exciting series. Game 2 will take place Sunday at Hertz Arena. Puck drop is set for 5 Pm ET.

Everblades Move On To Eastern Conference Finals, Eliminate Solar Bears To Take South Division Title
The Florida Everblades find themselves in a position they've become quite familiar with: waiting for their opponent in the Eastern Conference Finals. Florida eliminated the Orlando Solar Bears with a 3-1 victory Saturday to capture the South Division crown, winning the series 4-1. It was the Everblades' 14th consecutive post-season series win as they attempt to win an historic fourth straight Kelly Cup. Cole Moberg's power-play goal with 1:48 left in the third period was the difference Saturday, snapping a 1-1 tie and giving the Everblades the win. Orlando scored the only goal of the first period as Anthony Bardaro put the Solar Bears in front 1-0 at the 7:51 mark of the opening frame. That early tally proved to be the only goal of the contest for the home team, as the Everblades limited the Solar Bears to just 11 shots on goal over the rest of the contest. Colton Hargrove tied the score 3:25 into the second period, tipping home his fifth goal of the playoffs with Moberg and Logan Lambdin picking up the assists. While the Everblades couldn't score in the middle frame, they dominated the shot count 13-4 in the period. The score remained tied until late into the third period. With the possibility of overtime looming, Orlando's Alex Frye was whistled for a tripping minor with 2:10 left on the clock. That penalty would be critical, as Moberg potted the game-winner just 22 seconds later. Alex Kile and Hargrove each earning assists. Oliver Chau, the Everblades' captain and Game Four hero, closed out the scoring with an empty-net goal that beat the final buzzer for his third goal in two nights. Florida outshot the Solar Bears 15-3 in the third period and 37-15 for the game. Cam Johnson stopped 14 shots to backstop the Everblades' eighth win in nine playoff contests. Florida now awaits the winner of the Trois-Rivieres Lions-Norfolk Admirals series to determine who their Eastern Conference Finals opponent will be. Those two teams are currently tied at two games apiece in the North Division Finals with Game Five of that series scheduled for Sunday.

Solar Bears Face Elimination After Shutout Loss To Everblades
Florida Everblades goaltender Cam Johnson is becoming accustomed to seeing zeroes on the scoreboard. Johnson pitched his 12th career post-season shutout Friday in a 3-0 Everblades road victory over the Orlando Solar Bears to take a 3-1 advantage in the South Division Finals. Oliver Chau helped his netminder's effort by tallying two of the three goals for the Everblades, who have suffered just one loss so far this post-season. The Everblades' offense took a while to start up, but Chau finally got his team on the board with his first goal of the postseason 3:27 into the middle frame. That one-goal lead held into the final period until the Blades tacked on another tally. Chau added his second of the night at the 12:02 mark before Logan Lambdin closed out the scoring just 52 seconds later. Johnson stopped all 22 Orlando shots he faced, improving to 7-1 in the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs to turn in his first clean sheet of this year's post-season. In addition to Johnson's 12th all-time playoff shutout, the reigning ECHL Goaltender of the Year chalked up his league-record 54th postseason win. Florida outshot the Solar Bears 31-22 in the game, matching the exact shot tally from Game 3. The teams will be right back at it for Game Five Saturday night at Kia Center, with puck drop set for 7 Pm ET. Should Orlando force a Game Six, the contest would be played on Hertz Arena ice Monday night at 7:30 Pm ET.
