Crash in Everton Upper kills 74yo Beechworth woman, three others injured
One person has died and three others have been taken to hospital following a two-car collision in Victoria's north-east on Saturday.
Victoria Police said detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit were investigating the circumstances of the crash, which took place on Beechwoth-Wangaratta Road in Everton Upper just after 3:30pm on Saturday.
Police said one of the drivers, a 74-year-old Beechworth woman, died at the scene.
Ambulance Victoria said a female passenger in her 80s was treated for upper body injuries and was flown to the Alfred Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The driver of the other car, a 41-year-old Beechworth woman, was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Her passenger, a seven-year-old girl, was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital in a stable condition.
Police said they were investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
So far this year, 122 lives have been lost on Victorian roads, compared to 110 lives lost at this time last year.
