Orlando Pirates new coach: Ex-Bucs coaches linked
Orlando Pirates are actively searching for their next coach. Orlando Pirates are linked with FIVE massive coaches – including Pitso Mosimane, Rulani Mokwena and Benni McCarthy. Moreover, the Bucs are reportedly linked with not one – but two – former coaches. BIG READ: EX-SUNDOWNS COACH LINKED WITH ORLANDO PIRATES HOT SEAT Former head coach Fadlu Davids was reportedly approached by Pirates. However, the ex-Bucs coach turned down the Soweto giants. 'Yes, it's true that Pirates wanted Davids back. It was not only Pirates, Raja (Casablanca) also wanted him, but he wanted to remain with Simba. He says he still has some unfinished business with Simba. He has done well at Simba and the fans love him so he wants to stay at the club,' a source told the Mgosi Squad on Phakaaati. So, it will be interesting to see if Pirates re-visit interest in their former coach following the departure of Jose Riveiro. Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns and Wydad Casablanca coach, Mokwena is one of the favourites to take over from Jose Riveiro as the next Pirates head coach. However, what not many people know is that he was once a part of the Bucs setup. In fact, he was interim coach of Pirates in 2019. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that he is one of the front-runners following his early release from Wydad. Let us know by leaving a comment below or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211. Kaizer Chiefs plot deal for Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns star
Kaizer Chiefs plot dramatic move for Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns star amid European Interest. Amakhosi are gearing up for a major swoop as they set their sights on former Masandawana attacker Cassius Mailula. With the next transfer window approaching, Chiefs are reportedly preparing a strong bid to lure the 23-year-old maestro to Naturena. According to a well-placed source, Chiefs aren't just browsing the market, they're serious about landing the creative midfielder. Currently on loan at Moroccan powerhouse Wydad Athlet Club from Major League Soccer club Toronto FC, Mailula has impressed with his form in the Botola Pro League. His standout performances have caught the attention of Kaizer Chiefs, who are now reportedly ready to table a competitive offer. 'Chiefs have enquired about him but you know he is a Toronto FC player and they are the ones to make the final decision,' the source revealed. 'Are they loaning him out again or can Chiefs buy him from them? But as for Chiefs being interested in him, that's true and they are ready to fight for his signature.' Toronto hold the power – But Chiefs remain undeterred While Chiefs have expressed interest, Toronto FC ultimately controls Mailula's future. The MLS side must decide whether to approve another loan or agree to a permanent transfer. Regardless, Chiefs remain determined to bring him home. Mailula's stellar form hasn't gone unnoticed outside of Naturena. Wydad Casablanca want to retain him—depending on the managerial situation—and European clubs have also entered the race for his signature. 'For Wydad it will depend on whether coach Rulani Mokwena is still there or if whoever takes over still needs him,' the source said. 'Then there is interest from Europe. So Chiefs have to outbid all the other interests if they are to have a chance of signing him. But it's true they have shown interest in Mailula.' During his loan stint with Wydad Athletic Club, Mailula has made 30 appearances in the Moroccan top flight, scoring three goals and delivering six assists. With Mokwena set to leave Wydad at the end of the season, the door may swing open for Chiefs to pounce. Kaizer Chiefs now face stiff competition to land one of the most promising South African midfielders abroad. With European scouts circling and Wydad still in the picture, Amakhosi must act fast, and aggressively, if they hope to bring Mailula back to the PSL.
