Ex-NFL player's girlfriend shares claims of intense physical abuse
The post Ex-NFL player's girlfriend shares claims of intense physical abuse appeared first on ClutchPoints. Greg Hardy is once again at the center of serious allegations. According to documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the former NFL defensive end's girlfriend told police he physically assaulted her during a heated argument over alleged infidelity, per TMZ. The incident reportedly unfolded on Wednesday afternoon in Texas. Hardy's girlfriend claimed the two were returning home from the park with their children when tension began building. When Hardy asked what was wrong, she allegedly told him they would talk later — not wanting to argue in front of the kids. Once they got home, she confronted him about suspicious messages she had seen on his phone. She accused him of cheating while out of town. At that point, she said Hardy snapped. According to her statement, Hardy told her to get out of his face, then shoved her in the chest with both hands, knocking her onto the bed. She alleged he climbed on top of her and used one hand to press her neck down. She did not lose consciousness but said she struggled beneath him. When she kicked at him in defense, Hardy allegedly grabbed her legs and twisted her body in the process. Police were called to the scene around 2 PM. Officers noted visible scratches and redness on the woman's arms. When asked to rate her pain, she described it as a one on a scale of one to 10. Hardy, 36, had already left the home when officers arrived. Police said he fled in a white 2018 GMC Acadia but was later located and taken into custody at 2:29 p.m. local time. Online records show he was charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member. As of Thursday morning, no bond had been set. This is not the first time Greg Hardy has faced troubling accusations. The former Pro Bowler's past includes a 2014 domestic violence case that effectively ended his NFL career. These new claims threaten to once again put his name in the spotlight — for all the wrong reasons. Controversial Ex-NFL Player Dead At 72 On Thursday
A former NFL player who overcome a stint in prison to continue his NFL career has passed away at the age of 72. On Wednesday, the Miami Dolphins announced that former defensive tackle Randy Crowder passed away. Crowder was a part of their organization from 1974 to 1976, during which he played 39 games and recorded 12.5 sacks. Advertisement But Crowder's NFL career and his entire life was put on hold after he was sent to prison in 1977. Crowder and Dolphins teammate Don Reese were convicted of selling cocaine. The two both served one year in prison but got another chance in the NFL in 1978. Upon returning to the NFL, Crowder signed a deal with the fledgling Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played in all 16 games for the team in 1979, helping the Bucs reach the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. "We are saddened by the passing of former Dolphins player Randy Crowder, who played for the team from 1974-1976," the Dolphins said in a statement. Randy Crowder was the father of Channing Crowder, another former member of the Dolphins who played linebacker for the franchise from 2005 to 2010 and remains a beloved alum. The Crowders are the only father-son duo to be drafted by the Dolphins in franchise history and one of the few father-son duos drafted by the same team in league history to boot. Advertisement Dolphins fans on X have been offering their condolences to the Crowder family ever since the news broke: "I'm sorry to hear that. I am sending my heart to @OfficialCrowder and his family in this tough time," one user replied. "Was blessed to be old enough to have watched him play. My condolences. @OfficialCrowder and family," wrote another. Ex-NFL defender is buying the Rams hype heading into 2025
The Los Angeles Rams keep gaining supporters as the 2025 NFL season approaches. Former Rams defensive tackle Michael Brockers said he believes L.A. is should have the best shot at dethroning the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC because of what they've been able to accomplish this offseason and because they kept Matthew Stafford. Brockers picked them over the only other team he played for, the Detroit Lions, because the Lions lost their coordinators while the Rams still have Sean McVay. Advertisement "Sean McVay, his staff, they always draft really well. They always know what they're doing," Brockers said on Good Morning Football. "Matthew Stafford still has it. Arm is still there. His mind is still sharp. "I see the Rams being the biggest threat to the Philadelphia Eagles this year." Brockers isn't the only former NFL player to say this. Ex-NFL receiver James Jones also picked the Rams as the top contender against the Eagles in 2025. The two teams will get a chance to settle this argument (in the regular season, at least) as early as Week 3. But it wouldn't be a shock to see another matchup sometime in the NFC playoffs. How this Ex-NFL WR thinks Davante Adams will change Rams' passing offense
How this Ex-NFL WR thinks Davante Adams will change Rams' passing offense Signing Davante Adams this offseason was the second-biggest move by the Rams after the retention of quarterback Matthew Stafford. In Adams, the Rams added a playmaker they haven't truly seen in the offense for a long time. While Cooper Kupp was great and Puka Nacua is an ascending star, neither has had the consistency that Adams has throughout his career. He is a do-it-all pass-catcher who former NFL receiver Pierre Garçon says will become a "security blanket" in the Rams offense. "It gives them a security blanket. Third down, they're going to go to him. Early and often, they're going to get the ball in his hands so that he can make an impact in the game," Garçon said. "It's not going to be hard for those guys to get on the same page — Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams and [head coach] Sean McVay because it's all going to basically be one-on-one, and what can they draw up to have fun and score touchdowns?" Adams has been a prolific pass-catcher in his 11-year career. He's caught 957 total receptions in 164 games with 11,844 receiving yards and 103 touchdowns. While Adams is 32 and will be 33 by the end of the season, he proved to be productive even in adverse situations after going from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets and putting up another 1,000 yards despite missing three games. Now, he gets arguably the best quarterback he's played for in Stafford with one of the best offensive minds in McVay calling his plays. Adams will be more than a security blanket, though.
