Kota Kinabalu: Boys and girls aged 12-15 are urged to join the weekly football clinic organised by the Ex State Footballers Association (Esfa) to be held every Sunday at the rugby field B, Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex in Likas starting on July 13 from 7am-9am. The boys' programme will be headed by former international Yap Wai Loon together with ex-State players Harun Laban, Dominic Minsi and Romzi Musa, while ex-women international Laini Ahing will be the head coach for the girls assisted by Ranie Paul, Rachel Valentina, Surina Akub, Pedrolia Martin, with Mohd Noor as goalkeeper coach.

'We decided to open the door for boys and girls within the age group to join our programme as part of our effort to assist Sabah Football Association (Safa) to develop the sport in the State. 'We hope the parents will take advantage of this opportunity to let their children who are interested in football to join the programme. 'Apart from learning the basic skills from our experienced coaches, they will also get to learn finer points in football such as team spirit and sportsmanship in addition to good health and social interactions,' he said. The clinic will only be available to 50 boys and 30 girls. Monthly fee is RM50 and each participant will receive a free jersey. All training balls and apparels will be provided but the trainees must bring their own water. Registration is through the QR code on their Facebook page and payment is to be done on the first day of the programme.
