A Game-Ending Misread! Who Went Home on 'The Amazing Race 37' Tonight?
Any episode of The Amazing Race 37 would be tough to top last week's, which saw cars stuck in the mud, U-Turns being used, and one of the most epic comebacks in recent memory. And so, as the teams continued through Bulgaria, it paled in comparison. But it was still a taxing day for the six remaining teams, as they had to navigate a brain-bending cipher, a complicated dance and, for one duo, a crucial error that officially ended their chances at the million-dollar out our spoiler-filled recap below to find out who went home from the race on The Amazing Race 37 tonight. 🎬 🎬 Only a few legs into the race, Melinda and Erika seemed to be the last of their breed. Not only had all of the all-women teams been booted from the race, but despite having the oldest average aged cast in Amazing Race history, many of the ones on the older end of the spectrum were getting the boot. But the mother/daughter duo survived leg after leg due to being underestimated, their "slow and steady" approach and even the occasional cutthroat move (most notably when they U-Turned Nick and Mike, which sealed their fate). Going into Leg 8, Erika talked up the biggest skill she learned throughout the process: Reading the clue. The pure irony, of course, is that she would soon make a devastating misread, believing they could only take taxis for the rest of the leg, when they were specifically told not to. After an afternoon of getting stumped by a library cipher, that misread was the nail in their coffin, eliminating them from the race. Upon starting the leg, Brett Hamby and Mark Romain immediately disregarded the chance at an Express Pass for a first-place finish. And it was a gamble that ultimately proved successful, as the married Vegas performers struck out to a lead that they never relinquished, using their skills to dance into another victory. Alyssa and Josiah Bordendid choose to go for the Express Pass, walking across hot coals to earn the chance to skip a task in the next two legs. And Jonathan and AnaTowns once again finished third, as Jonathan said their fate from the previous leg cost them a shot at both first place and the Express Pass. Related: After their incredible comeback last leg, there was still a lot of work for Carson McCalley and Jack Dodge to do. But perhaps powered by the "spirit of delusion," the best friends were able to catch up to the back of the pack, even passing a couple of teams to wind up in fourth. Meanwhile, Han and Holden Nguyen faced a bit of a backslide, as their bickering and rash decisions had them falling to second-to-last.

The Amazing Race Duo Makes a Grave Mistake in Bulgaria — But Did It Cost Them the Game?
What's the No. 1 rule on The Amazing Race? You've gotta read the clue! Then, you should probably read it again for good measure. Because one teeny tiny missed word could upend your entire race. Erika did read her clue, to be fair, but she didn't read it well enough. That little piece of parchment specifically said that taxis were not allowed on their second Bulgaria leg, and the mother/daughter duo broke that rule, well, every step of the way in Wednesday's episode. If it's any consolation prize (probably not), Melinda and Erika came in last place anyways and this could've-been-major mistake wound up not affecting their placement after all. Yet, it still stands as a warning sign for all future racers: Slow down, breathe and correctly read that dang yellow piece of paper! The Handmaid's Tale Recap: A Modest Proposal The Last of Us Kills [Spoiler] in Devastating Episode 2 - Read Recap So what else went down in Sofia, Bulgaria? Josiah and Alyssa continued to crush it. Having the privilege of starting the leg first, the married nurses had first dibs at snagging a brand spanking new Express Pass, and that they did. The task: Walking over hot coals, which Josiah claimed was his biggest fear. (He said he drinks lukewarm hot chocolate, because 'hot' just isn't his bag. Uh, that's a choice!) To his credit, he kept all 10 little piggies raised to the sky as he sucked it up and got the job done despite his reservations. He faced his fear, and for that, we applaud him! Elsewhere, Jonathan and Ana made a smart strategic decision after figuring out how to use a cipher to decode a message into English. What most teams couldn't figure out was that the English letters would appear on the bottom of the device. After Jonathan and Ana finally realized what had to be done and received their clue, they decided to tell Josiah and Alyssa to flip the cipher over — a bit of social strategy they're hoping could maybe pay them back down the road. Despite some additional teamwork that occurred throughout the episode (Han and Holden made a kind decision to tell last place team Melinda and Erika about the whole cipher sitch — a risky, yet honorable ploy!), no one could catch up with Brett and Mark who ended up winning the week after nailing the Bulgarian national dance. And even though Melinda and Erika were given a key clue and used heaps of taxis that other teams did not, they still arrived in last and were eliminated from the race. 'We're Going To F--ing Die:' A Woman Freaked Out After Getting Stopped On Universal Orlando's Harry Potter Roller Coaster, But Commenters Explained Why She Didn't Need To Worry
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Roller coasters are designed to give riders the illusion of danger. While they can certainly make you feel in the moment like something terrible might happen, the attractions are designed with numerous safety features in place to prevent anybody from actually getting hurt. This is why a lot of people on TikTok aren't cutting a woman on TikTok much slack for freaking out after riding Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Universal's Islands of Adventure. A clip has gone viral from TikTok from a woman who spends nearly a minute and a half in a complete panic because she rode the E-ticket attraction at Universal's Islands of Adventure when her train stopped in the middle of the ride. She seemed quite certain that her death was only seconds away. A lot of the comments aren't exactly kind, asking if she has ever been on a theme park ride in her life before now. This is because being stopped on rides is far from uncommon, and roller coasters are specifically designed to deal with exactly this issue. She's afraid that another train is going to come crashing down, apparently unaware that when there is an error that stops one vehicle on the track, the entire coaster stops. It's called a 'cascade stop.' Comments that are (at least slightly) kinder and more informative include: Girl, you were no where near close to getting hurt You ever been to a theme park? lol this happens daily.. 😂 Rides break down. You were 100% safe. A comp ride seems reasonable. there's really no danger of anything like that happening on a roller coaster 😭 it's an incredibly high tech system and theres about 1000 safety precautions and backup mechanisms in place at all times It's perfectly understandable to perhaps be a little rattled by an unexpected stop of a roller coaster, but most commenters take issue with the level of intensity of the video's complaints. The woman seemed to feel that such a problem should result in full ticket refunds rather than just a free Express Pass to make up for the lost time. The impression here is also that everybody else on the train was equally panicked over the situation. As somebody who spends a lot of time in theme parks, I've been on rides that stopped so often that I rarely notice anymore. My most recent roller coaster stoppage occurred on the Starfall Racers, one of the best rides at Universal's new Epic Universe park. It was only a brief delay and nobody was bothered by it. While problems with roller coasters have led to serious injury and even death in some cases, these issues often arise as a result of structural defects or human error. Safety systems are specifically designed to prevent injury. While it can sometimes be weird to find yourself stopped on a coaster, especially if you're in the dark, it's a fairly normal thing to have happen.

A New Twist Causes Loads of Drama! Who Went Home on 'The Amazing Race 37' Tonight?
This week's episode of The Amazing Race 37 saw the remaining 10 teams leave the cities of Japan for the jungles of Indonesia. And the heat was on in Bali, as one team was given the power of the "Driver's Seat," single-handedly determining how hard the Roadblock would be for the other pairs behind them. And while their decisions earned plenty of ire from the other teams, for one duo, the conflict was directed at each other, culminating in their out our spoiler-filled recap below to find out who went home from the race on The Amazing Race 37 tonight. 🎬 🎬 Bernie and Carrigain became friends through their mutual love of dragon boat racing. But, despite relying on being in sync on the water, the two could never find the same rhythm on land. Things came to a head early on for the two, as they got in a tense argument at the airport over their lack of communication. Even when they were able to work together better, they fell behind in Japan, leaving for Bali in last place. Bernie and Carrigain were once again playing catch-up the whole day, not helped by Jonathan and Ana giving them the hardest path in the Roadblock. Things fell apart even further in the Detour, when the two got lost on their way to the task, prompting another big argument. In the end, Bernie and Carrigain did not go out on the happiest of terms, but gratitude for sticking through it together. Jonathan and Ana Towns were the main characters of Leg 4. The two won the power of the "Driver's Seat," allowing them to allocate weight in the Roadblock out to the other teams. However, upon seeing the Roadblock themselves, they quickly used their recently-won Express Pass to bypass it. The choice earned them their second first-place finish of the season. Carson McCalley and Jack Dodge overcame starting the day in the bottom half of teams, jumping all the way back up to another dominant performance in second place. And Scott and Lori Thompson worked against having the hardest path given to them by Jonathan and Ana to finish in third. The married parents also earned the attention of the other teams for their continued dominance, despite their age. Related: For every team outside of the top 3, the race to the Pit Stop was a jumbled and chaotic mess. Pairs were running all around the village in a mass of confusion and navigation. Six teams essentially checked in at once, within minutes of each other. Finishing in the bottom three above Bernie and Carrigain were married Vegas performers Brett Hamby and Mark Romain, brothers Nick and Mike Fiorito and father/son duo Pops and Jeff Bailey.
