Galaxy S25 FE camera specs leak — and it looks pretty disappointing

Another leak, more disappointment for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S25 FE. Over on X, regular tipster Yogesh Brar posted a simple tweet revealing some specs for the cameras that should feature on Samsung's next budget S-series phone. For those looking for an upgrade, don't expect one. Brar's specs for the rear cameras are the exact same as last year's Samsung Galaxy S24 FE which featured a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultra wide and an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. The only update the S25 FE cameras might get is on the front-facing lens which bumps up to 12MP from 10MP. It's unfortunate news coupled with an earlier leak from April that claimed the S25 FE would featuring the same Exynos 2400e as last year's phone. In general, Samsung's FE phones are budget-friendly handsets released a few months after the mainline Galaxy S-series devices. Usually, they offer lower power for a lower price. Last year's S24 FE model though was nearly on a par with the Samsung Galaxy S24 while costing $200 less. So far, the rumor mill is painting a picture of a phone that shares some key components with a phone that already exists. Hopefully, there will be some bigger differences when the phone is expected to launch in October. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE to get an upgraded selfie camera

Vlad, 15 May 2025 Samsung's Galaxy S25 FE is likely still a few months away at this point, given that its predecessor only launched last fall. Even so, we keep hearing new rumors about it - most recently we found out that it could be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 SoC, if we're lucky. If we're not, then it will stick with the Exynos 2400e that was also featured in the S24 FE. Today a new rumor tells us that the S25 FE will come with an upgraded selfie camera. It will be a 12 MP unit, compared to the S24 FE's 10 MP snapper. The new camera may in fact be the same one used by the rest of the Galaxy S25 family. That should make for nicer looking selfies. On the rear, the S25 FE will have a 50 MP main shooter, just like its predecessor. Unfortunately, details about the rest of the cameras haven't been outed yet. The Galaxy S25 FE is said to arrive in September or October, practically a year after the S24 FE. It may launch alongside the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, today's rumor claims, which is intriguing since we assumed the cheaper foldable would share the stage with the Flip7 and Fold7 in July, but maybe not. Perhaps Samsung wants to do an FE-only event in the fall. We'll have to wait and see. Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 128GB 8GB RAM $ 273.29 $ 273.29 256GB 8GB RAM $ 499.50 Source (in Dutch)

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE may finally improve its front camera

So far, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series has launched four devices: Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra and S25 Edge. But this is not it. Based on traditions, Samsung is yet to add another device to the list. The Fan Edition (FE) variant, a toned-down model, is expected to launch in the lineup. According to rumours, the company has started assembling the phone, which may debut later this year. And this time, the company is speculated to put an end to the front camera struggles. The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is tipped to feature a 12-megapixel selfie camera. advertisementSamsung Galaxy S25 FE: Camera specs leakedWhile the jump may appear modest, any form of improvement is still worth noting. Upgrading the front-facing camera from a 10-megapixel sensor to a 12-megapixel one might not sound particularly groundbreaking, but it could prove more meaningful depending on the specific sensor Samsung opts to use. At present, it's difficult to determine the extent of the enhancement, and we won't know for certain until proper testing and comparisons with previous models are carried said, the leap from 10 to 12 megapixels isn't likely to result in a dramatic difference—especially considering the relatively short two-year gap between models. Unless Samsung had been relying on a particularly outdated sensor in earlier devices, the improvements may be relatively subtle. Users can likely expect slightly sharper selfies and a touch more detail when using the front camera on the Galaxy S25 FE, assuming this upgrade is while the selfie camera appears to be receiving a modest update, the same cannot be said for the rear camera. A recent report from Galaxy Club, as relayed by SamMobile, suggests that the primary rear sensor will remain unchanged at 50 megapixels. It's uncertain whether it's identical to the one featured in the Galaxy S24 FE, but it is confirmed to be a 50-megapixel unit. At the very least, photo quality from the main camera should be on par with previous Galaxy S25 FE: Chipset leakIn a previous report, we reported that the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is most likely to feature a MediaTek chip. Ditching the Exynos 2400e, a recent leak suggests that the upcoming FE model will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip. The Galaxy S24 FE released last year came equipped with the Exynos 2400e processor, and earlier leaks indicated that Samsung might be planning to bring back the same chipset for this year's Fan Edition variant. Interestingly, this processor has also been linked to the unannounced Galaxy Z Flip FE, according to circulating rumours.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Could Get A Big Upgrade That People Will Like: What We Know

Last Updated: Samsung Galaxy S25 FE could have more interest if the company decides to make an important change in its hardware. After launching the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE last year, the brand is apparently working on its upgraded version which should be called the Galaxy S25 FE. Most reports have claimed that Samsung will power the device with an Exynos chipset once again, but latest updates are offering some positive changes that will excite people. According to a recent report, Samsung might switch to a MediaTek SoC if it is not able to manufacture enough units of Exynos 2400e chipset for the Galaxy S25 FE. This means we could actually see the Galaxy S25 FE launch with a MediaTek's Dimensity 9400 chipset, which should be more powerful than the Exynos chip. Having said that, Samsung would ideally prefer to go with its in-house Exynos 2400e version that will make it easy to keep the product cost lower. And the Dimensity 9400 is likely to work out as a backup in case its original plan does not come through. Samsung does have enough resources to manage producing enough units on the Exynos chip but it seems the company is also likely to use the same SoC for the supposed Flip FE model. So, it might be challenging for the brand to have units needed for both the devices, forcing Samsung to consider looking outside to support its product roadmap later this year. The Dimensity 9400 SoC has shown its flagship-like traits and won't be the worst option for Samsung to power the next FE model. As for the features, the upcoming Fan Edition model should be offered with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. It is likely to have a triple camera setup with a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens. For selfies, it may use a 12MP front-facing camera.
