NWS issues Flash Flood Warning for Bradford County

BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The National Weather Service (NWS) announced on Monday that Bradford County is under a Flash Flood Warning. The NWS announced shortly before 7:30 p.m. that the warning is in place for Bradford County until 10:30 p.m. after Doppler radar indicated heavy rain in the area. Officials say between one and one and a half inches of rain have already fallen. The NWS warns residents to take proper precautions when encountering an area experiencing flash flooding by turning around and to not drown. Areas anticipated to be impacted could experience flash flooding of urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, small creeks, and streams, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. (WBRE/WYOU) — The National Weather Service (NWS) announced on Sunday that several counties are under flash flood warnings. The NWS issued a flood warning for the following counties until 10:30 p.m. Sunday night: Lackawanna County Susquehanna County Wayne County According to the NWS, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the affected areas, with 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain already fallen. The NWS warns residents to take proper precautions when encountering an area experiencing flash flooding by turning around and to not drown. (WBRE/WYOU) — The National Weather Service (NWS) announced Tuesday multiple severe thunderstorm warnings as storms make their way through Pennsylvania. Issued by the NWS, a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 9:00 p.m. Carbon County Lycoming County Monroe County Montour County Northumberland County Snyder County Union County Severe thunderstorms were spotted by the NWS moving east at 65 miles per hour along a line extending from near Karthaus to Snow Shoe to Raystown Dam. The NWS warns winds could reach up to 60 miles per hour and hail could measure 0.75 inches in size. Weather Alert: Prepare for severe storms Officials with the NWS say residents in the area should expect damage to siding, trees, and roofs due to those storms. Authorities caution residents in the areas expected to be impacted to stay inside a well-built structure and to keep away from the windows. Meanwhile, the NWS also issued severe thunderstorm watches in the following areas: Bradford County Clinton County Columbia County Lackawanna County Luzerne County Lycoming County Montour County Northumberland County Schuylkill County Sullivan County Susquehanna County Snyder County Union County Wayne County Wyoming County The NWS says severe thunderstorm watches are in effect for those areas until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night. Heavy rain, thunderstorms expected in NEPA for Monday

(WBRE/WYOU) — A big, complex storm system is expected to impact our weather and could do so through Monday. Clouds are expected to hang around Sunday night with a few showers developing too. It is projected to be mild and in the mid-50s. On Monday, a stronger cold front could move across the region with more showers and the chance of thunderstorms. The main threat will be heavier rain. If the storms can become strong, gusty winds to 60 miles per hour are likely. Highs could also get near 70°. Cooler air may follow on Tuesday with highs possibly in the upper 40s. 1 man dead after alleged wrong-way driver crash on Turnpike The next storm system could approach in the second half of the week. The best chance of showers on Wednesday will be later in the day. Wednesday's highs will be in the low 50s. Then, the rain has the potential to stick around for Thursday and Friday. Thursday will warm to near 70°, and Friday's temperatures will get into the 60s. As we head into the weekend, we're still tracking a chance for showers both days, and highs could drop into the mid-50s. If you are in the areas anticipated to be impacted by the severe thunderstorms, the NWS says to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Power outages impact thousands across PA

(WBRE/WYOU) — As rain and winds impact our area, thousands across Pennsylvania are experiencing power outages Sunday afternoon. As of 4:00 p.m., over 16,000 customers across Pennsylvania in our coverage area are experiencing power outages, according to PPL NWS issues Tornado Warning for Clinton County In Lackawanna County, PPL says more than 6,000 customers are experiencing power outages, with the biggest impact being felt in Dunmore, where over 3,000 are without power. Repairs are expected to be completed by 11:30 p.m. Sunday night. According to PPL, Wilkes-Barre is also experiencing issues, as over 600 customers are without power. Crews expect power to be restored by 11:30 p.m. Sunday evening. You can check PPL's outage map online for more information. UGI also reported over 400 of their customers were without power Sunday afternoon. According to Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative, over 1,700 of their customers are also experiencing power outages. Of that number, 600 are without power in Towanda, Bradford County. Report it!
