Danni Menzies opens up about catfish hell that haunts her social media & how they're cashing in on men looking for dates
Click on the video to watch Danni and Alex's vodcast with Fabulous BIT FISHY Danni Menzies opens up about catfish hell that haunts her social media & how they're cashing in on men looking for dates TELLY and vodcast host Danni Menzies has opened up about a catfish nightmare that has plagued her social media accounts. The 36-year-old revealed that she has repeatedly been in the position of having to defend herself after discovering that people are cashing in and pretending to be her online. Repeat Credit: FABULOUS 4 Danni explained that someone had been impersonating her on Telegram Credit: Getty Watch Date. Delete. Repeat on YouTube and listen on all podcast providers now. In the latest episode of Fabulous' vodcast, Danni and co-host Alex Serruys discussed the issue. Speaking to Alex, Danni explained someone had been impersonating her on Telegram, forcing her to report the account. 'I had loads of messages from different people. I had one the other day. In fact, when I put a question out about people being catfished,' she explained. Advertisement 'And somebody said [to me] 'yes, by you.' 'So someone had been pretending to be me, and I don't know how they are monetising it, but they are, and it's not the first time. 'In the last six months, I've probably had about 30 or 40 messages, and I have to go onto Instagram and Facebook [and take a look]. 'I probably do it once every few weeks, but there will be about eight new profiles pretending to be me. Advertisement 'And I get guys sliding into my DMs being like, 'why are you ignoring me all of a sudden?' and I'm like, 'what?' 'And someone is literally using my profile and using pictures of me, pretending to be me, and full-on having conversations with people. "I don't really know what they are talking about.' Meaty hands are a good sign Alex responded: 'It's really sad that people who also find you attractive, you are their dream girl, think that you are actually giving them the time of day. Advertisement 'And you're not. I just think that is really sad. And it's horrible that someone is making money off that.' Danni went on to explain how people can tell whether they are really speaking to her or not. She said: 'It's sad, it's horrible that someone is making money off that, but also, if anyone is listening, I only message my friends. It is sad, but come on, it is a bit painful for them. But it's also a bit embarrassing for me Danni Menzies 'It's just like, really? Because you know, in the nicest possible way, the guys are always in the probably 50 to 70 age bracket, probably just definitely not what I would go for, to put it that way. Advertisement 'Come on, do you really think I am sitting at home on my computer all day hitting you up babe, no. 'It is sad, but come on, it is a bit painful for them. But it's also a bit embarrassing for me. 4 Danni and Alex now present their own vodcast with Fabulous Credit: Instagram 'I feel bad about it, but I also feel a bit grossed out about it because I'm like, what are you actually speaking about?' Advertisement Alex added: 'If they have got your face, and somebody is messaging 'you,' it's like, OK, can I have a video of you doing something to yourself? Someone could make that.' And this is what puts Danni in fear. 'That's the scary thing, because they can make the video from an image,' she explained. 'And that could literally be any image from your Instagram, and they can create a video of you sha**ing from that.' Advertisement Who is Danni and why did she leave A Place In The Sun? Danni presented on Channel 4's A Place In The Sun for nearly six years and left in 2022 to explore other opportunities closer to home. She explained that "travelling as much as I did, I found it hard to establish relationships". "Also, six years in the same job, travelling loads, it was such an amazing experience, went to lots of great places, met lots of great people," she added. "I was very much in my comfort zone and now I'm very much out of my comfort zone and it makes you feel a little bit more alive to be honest."

THE HISTORY OF DUNNES STORES DUNNES Stores opened its first store on Patrick Street in Cork in 1944 - and it was an instant hit. Shoppers from all over the city rushed to the store to snap up quality clothing at pre-war prices in Ireland's first 'shopping frenzy'. During the excitement, a window was forced in and the police had to be called to help control the crowds hoping to bag founder Ben Dunne's 'Better Value' bargains. Dunnes later opened more stores in the 1950s and began to sell groceries in 1960 - starting with apples and oranges. The retailer said: "Fruit was expensive at the time and Ben Dunne yet again offered Better Value than anyone else in town. "Over time, our food selection has grown and that spirit of good value has remained strong. "Now we offer a wide range of carefully-sourced foods from both local Irish suppliers and overseas." The retailer's first Dublin store opened its doors in 1957 on Henry Street and a super store on South Great Georges Street was unveiled in 1960. They added: "In 1971, our first Northern Irish store opened, and many others soon followed. "Expansion continued in the 1980s in Spain, and later into Scotland and England." Dunnes now has 142 stores and employs 15,000 people.

Here's why you're cleaning the kitchen sink wrong – it could be dirtier than your toilet
A CLEANING expert has warned that people are probably cleaning their kitchen sink wrong. Despite being an area of the home associated with cleaning, it is often one of the most germ-ridden spots. Advertisement 1 The kitchen sink is a magnet for germs. Credit: Getty illness if not properly addressed. While toilets are regularly disinfected using strong cleaners, kitchen sinks often receive just a quick rinse. This is far from sufficient. Between raw meat, dairy, dirty dishes and even pet bowls , your sink is exposed to high levels of bacteria every day. A spokesman from Plumbworld explains: 'Many people assume the bathroom is dirtier than the kitchen, but studies have shown that sinks can contain more E. coli and other harmful bacteria than the average toilet bowl. Advertisement READ MORE IN FABULOUS "The moist, food-rich environment allows germs to thrive, especially when cleaning is neglected. "Just because a sink looks clean doesn't mean it's germ-free. "Proper daily cleaning habits are essential to keep your kitchen safe and hygienic. "By understanding where germs collect and adjusting your cleaning routine, you can dramatically improve your household's health and hygiene. Advertisement Most read in Fabulous Exclusive " Small daily actions make a big difference when it comes to avoiding bacteria build-up in the kitchen." Common cleaning mistakes for the kitchen sink include using only warm water without soap or disinfectant and ignoring the plughole and overflow area, which collect grime. I was gutted when scrubbing didn't get my 'stained' blender clean, then remembered a £3.25 spray I had in the cupboard While people often leave sponges or cloths in the sink, allowing bacteria to spread, and fail to clean after rinsing raw meat or fish, which can introduce pathogens. The best tips are daily cleaning – wash the sink basin with hot water and washing-up liquid every day - and disinfecting it with an antibacterial spray, or a mix of vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to break down grease and sanitise. Advertisement Flushing the drain by poring boiling water down the plughole daily to help clear build-up and reduce odours can also help. While regularly washing your sponges, brushes, and cloths and replacing items when they begin to smell or break down is key.
