CASSIDY PRODUCES DOMINANT LIGHTS-TO-FLAG VICTORY ON RAIN-SOAKED SUNDAY IN SHANGHAI

Amid torrid conditions, Jaguar TCS Racing's Nick Cassidy converted from pole, leading every lap of the race to produce a first win of the season in the 2025 Hankook Shanghai E-Prix Round 11 at a rain-soaked Shanghai International Circuit. Cassidy topped a weather-truncated Groups-only qualifying session to seal pole and strode away into an immediate lead, where he was able to stay for the duration of Round 11 in tricky conditions as the rain continued to fall – though less heavily than throughout the morning. The win was a first lights-to-flag victory of the GEN3 Evo era and a return to the top step for the New Zealander. Reigning champion Pascal Wehrlein got the better of his teammate through the first round of ATTACK MODE activations; the German leading home António Félix da Costa despite an early slip, as TAG Heuer Porsche capitalised on a Nissan non-score to round out the podium and propel the Stuttgart marque to the top of the FIA Teams' World Championship table – a full reversal after TAG Heuer Porsche failed to score on Saturday. Jake Hughes (Maserati MSG Racing) brought it home fourth, Jean-Éric Vergne (DS PENSKE) fifth and Nico Mueller (Andretti) finished sixth. The second Maserati of Stoffel Vandoorne finished seventh despite pirouetting two laps from the chequered flag, ahead of Robin Frijns (Envision Racing), Lucas di Grassi (Lola Yamaha ABT) and NEOM McLaren's Taylor Barnard. The difficult conditions caught out a number of other drivers including Jake Dennis, Nyck de Vries, Dan Ticktum and Sam Bird with standing water significant in spots around the circuit throughout the race. Even so, 21 of the 22 cars managed to make it to the end of the race as their race craft was pushed to the limit. The result sees Rowland's lead reduce to 68 points over Pascal Wehrlein (103 points), with da Costa in third (88 points) with only five races remaining this season. Porsche retakes the top spot in the FIA Teams' World Championship running from Nissan, while Nissan leads Porsche in the FIA Manufacturers' World Championship standings. Nick Cassidy, No. 37, Jaguar TCS Racing said: 'This weekend is a massive highlight. Really proud of all our guys. Qualifying form yesterday was huge for us, we were in the game, and I'm just proud that we've come back today and our pace was absolutely unbelievable – what a race. I feel like there have been so many wins that probably should have been ours at the end of last season that never happened, and it feels like we've been waiting a long time. That's certainly on your mind when you go through the last couple of laps, and now to get that monkey off the back is awesome.' The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship continues in Jakarta with Round 12 on 21 June.

NEOM McLAREN ON PODIUM AGAIN AS DS PENSKE FINISH ONE-TWO IN SHANGHAI ROUND 10

NEOM McLaren Formula E Team's Taylor Barnard has once again finished on a podium, having crossed the finish line of the 2025 Hankook Shanghai E-Prix in third place. Meanwhile, Maximilian Guenther headed home a maiden one-two for DS PENSKE, as teammate Jean-Éric Vergne sliced by two cars on the last lap to seal the deal in the Round 10 race. Barnard had led, having sliced by the front-runners through the final chicane and away from the pack to the tune of almost two seconds on Lap 21 of 29. Oliver Rowland (Nissan), who currently leads the FIA Drivers' World Championship standings, had a lap's worth of that 50kW, four-wheel-drive ATTACK MODE boost over Barnard and made it by late on, but Guenther himself had 30 seconds over Rowland – enough for what was ultimately the race-winning move over the start-finish line on Lap 26. Barnard produced a storming move around the outside of Rowland to switch back up the inside of the Nissan a turn later at the chicane on Lap 27 for what looked like second spot, but late pressure from Dan Ticktum (CUPRA KIRO) opened the door to Vergne. The double champion produced his own wizardry to jump by Barnard and Ticktum for second at the flag and a first podium of Season 11, leaving that pair third and fourth respectively. Rowland finished fifth, just ahead of Nissan teammate Norman Nato, after being shuffled out of the podium spots late on. All that leaves Rowland maintaining his lead at the top with 171 points, with Barnard now second in the Drivers' standings (85 points), just ahead of TAG Heuer Porsche's Pascal Wehrlein (84 points). Nissan still heads both the FIA Teams' World Championship and FIA Manufacturers' World Championship tables, with Porsche in second place. NEOM McLaren are fourth in the Teams' Championship with 112 points. Taylor Barnard, No. 5, NEOM McLaren Formula E Team said: 'Honestly, my main emotion is that I'm a bit confused! I was sitting at the back for a very long time; I was quite good on energy but I didn't understand how the race was playing out. The team did a great job with the strategy because I came out of the pit lane in sixth so I thought, 'now I can fight!', but I need to look at the race after to understand a little bit better what's actually happened. I was really struggling with energy on the last couple of laps so I did my best in the last few corners. I'm super happy to get another podium, another 15 points in the bag.' Round 11 on Sunday, 1 June gets underway with just one Free Practice, followed by qualifying and the race. SÉBASTIEN BUEMI CRUISES TO ROUND 7 WIN IN MONACO

News Cars Motors and accessories By Editor_wr On May 5, 2025 Envision Racing's Sébastien Buemi strode to a comfortable win in the 2025 Monaco E-Prix Round 7, having started eighth on the grid in the Principality for his third win on the Riviera as he led home Nissan's Oliver Rowland and Jaguar TCS Racing's Nick Cassidy. The Swiss – Formula E's Season 2 champion – last won 78 races ago in New York City in 2019, but stamped his authority on the final third of this race, having clambered his way through the pack in super slippery wet conditions from eighth at lights out. Buemi took full advantage in picking up the pieces from a Rowland lunge at the chicane on Lap 21. The Brit was trying to pass Jean-Éric Vergne who led through much of the encounter with a typically staunch defence – doubly enforced by a mid-race appearance for the FIA Safety Car, which quashed his three-second lead. The Nissan driver's move was later judged over-exuberant by the stewards, forcing him to later cede the position to Vergne in recompense, but the damage cost DS PENSKE's double champion a crack at the race win, as Mahindra's Nyck de Vries and Buemi made it by as JEV bogged down in avoiding action. Cleverly, Rowland gave that spot back to Vergne amid his move off-line for that final mandatory 50kW, four-wheel drive ATTACK MODE activation, allowing him to use that overlap of extra power and traction to push past Vergne and de Vries on Lap 23 and 24 respectively for second place at the flag, some four seconds back from Buemi. Nick Cassidy (Jaguar TCS Racing) picked his way through the field from 14th to third and a first podium of 2024/25, with a strong energy advantage built early on yielding late progress. António Félix da Costa was the best of the Porsches in fourth, with de Vries eventually settling for fifth and another strong score for Mahindra. Vergne followed in sixth in the end, though it could and maybe should have been more. That sees Rowland head to home soil for Nissan in Tokyo in a commanding position at the top of the Drivers' standings on 115 points to da Costa's 67. Porsche narrowly tops the FIA Teams' World Championship table 133 points to Nissan's 126, but Nissan leads Porsche in the FIA Manufacturers' World Championship standings 191 to 163. Envision was bottom of the FIA Teams' World Championship heading into Monaco, with no win since Monaco 2023, but Buemi's win sees the squad lift themselves into ninth spot. Sébastian Buemi, No. 16, Envision Racing said: 'I thought I would never win again at some points, so you know you need a bit of luck, you need the right timing, you need the right car, a good team, and today everything just came together, so I'm so happy. I'm actually speechless because you know it's been a long time. It was obviously quite tricky at the beginning with the fight with António [Félix da Costa] and Max [Guenther], but in the end the timing of the ATTACK MODE was good, I was able to make a gap and I was safe when Oli [Rowland] took his second one. I was able to read where the track was drying up, especially in Turns 3 and 4, there was lots of lap time to be gained, but you needed the confidence and today I had it. I thought that my number of wins would never change but it did today, so I'm very proud.' The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship heads next to Tokyo for a double-header in Odaiba in two weeks' time on 17 & 18 May. SÉBASTIEN BUEMI CRUISES TO ROUND 7 WIN IN MONACO Comments are closed.

The Envision Racing driver was very happy to finally see a change in his number of career wins after his last win 78 races earlier. He is now the only Formula E driver with the most career wins, 14 in total. He was earlier tied with Lucas Di Grassi and Mitch Evans at 13 career wins in Formula E. Sebastien Buemi on his much-awaited win in Monaco Sebastien Buemi battled slippery conditions to win the race on the Riviera as the Swiss driver led Nissan's Oliver Rowland and Jaguar TCS Racing's Nick Cassidy to the podium. 'I thought I would never win again at some points, so you know you need a bit of luck, you need the right timing, you need the right car, a good team, and today everything just came together, so I'm so happy. I'm actually speechless because you know it's been a long time,' said Buemi, while feeling very relieved after taking a win he had hardly expected after so long. Buemi was Formula E's Season 2 champion and had won his last race in New York in 2019. On Sunday, he took full advantage in picking up the pieces from a Rowland lunge at the chicane on Lap 21 and gained a lead in the race. Opening up about the Round 7 race, Buemi said, 'It was obviously quite tricky at the beginning with the fight with António [Félix da Costa] and Max [Guenther], but in the end the timing of the Attack Mode was good, I was able to make a gap and I was safe when Oli [Rowland] took his second one. ROWLAND EXTENDS CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD IN 2025 MONACO E-PRIX

News Cars Motors and accessories By Editor_wr On May 4, 2025 Nissan's Oliver Rowland picked his way through a frenetic closing third of the 2025 Monaco E-Prix Round 6 to drive to a dominant win over Mahindra Racing's Nyck de Vries and Andretti's Jake Dennis. Oliver Rowland of Nissan Formula E Team achieved his first victory on the iconic Monaco street circuit, marking his third win in the initial six races of the 2024/25 season. This impressive performance translates to a 50% win rate and has further extended his lead in the FIA Drivers' World Championship standings to a significant 34 points over reigning champion Wehrlein, who finished sixth in this race and now has 60 points. Rowland currently holds 94 points. A key factor in Rowland's success was the strategic deployment of PIT BOOST by Nissan, allowing him to overtake polesitter Taylor Barnard (NEOM McLaren Formula E Team) on Lap 13. Despite briefly losing the lead to Nyck de Vries (Mahindra Racing) on Lap 26, Rowland masterfully utilised his final ATTACK MODE on Lap 27 to reclaim the lead, ultimately winning the race by a comfortable two-second margin. Behind Rowland, the Andretti team experienced mixed fortunes. Dennis received a five-second penalty, impacting his final position and dropping him to third. His teammate Nico Mueller initially finished fourth but was then overtaken at the finish line by Eduardo Mortara (Mahindra Racing), placing Mueller in fifth. Nyck de Vries' second-place finish marked his first podium since London 2022, and his Mahindra team's first podium since Mexico City 2023. In the FIA Teams' World Championship standings, Porsche leads Nissan by nine points (114 to 105), while Nissan leads Porsche in the FIA Manufacturers' World Championship standings. Oliver Rowland, No. 23, Nissan Formula E Team said: 'You never know what to do with the strategy especially with these PIT BOOST races – it's the second race but we kind of had a plan and we stuck to it. It was a bit trickier to pass Taylor [Barnard] to be honest, but we kept calm – even at the end I was pretty worried during that second ATTACK MODE: I dropped back to fifth and I was behind two Mahindras, and I was like 'right now we need to get cracking', but great job by the team and very well executed. 'I was thinking Taylor was pushing the barriers of the rules at some points, but fair play to him – in the end we got the job done so it doesn't really matter. We've started the season really well, but it feels a bit different now. Normally you'd be looking forward to the champagne but you've already got one eye on tomorrow.' The 2025 Monaco E-Prix marks the first time the Principality is hosting a double-header event, with Round 7 scheduled for Sunday May 4th.
