Iraq against New Zealand, Taipei, and the Philippines in the FIBA Asia Finals
The draw for the FIBA Asia Finals, held on Tuesday, placed the Iraqi national basketball team alongside New Zealand, Chinese Taipei, and the Philippines.
"The draw for the FIBA Asia Finals, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia next August, placed the Iraqi national team in Group D alongside Chinese Taipei, New Zealand, and the Philippines. Group A includes Qatar, Australia, South Korea, and Lebanon," according to a statement from the Basketball Federation - received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.
Group B includes Guam, Japan, Syria, and Iran, while Group C includes the host country, Saudi Arabia, India, China, and Jordan.
The Iraqi national team was the last team to qualify for the finals after defeating Bahrain in the playoffs.
