Dhs1 million spent daily on viral Dubai chocolate at Dubai Duty Free

Following one of the biggest ever months at Dubai International Airport, one interesting item has stood out as a top seller among travellers. Dubai Duty Free has released figures that show it has had the fourth-best month in its history and revealed that people at DXB are spending a whopping Dhs1 million on viral Dubai chocolate every day. Made famous by FIX Dessert Chocolatiers, Dubai chocolate has become a viral sensation, which has spawned countless dupes and copycats across the world. For the uninitiated, the bar is packed with a combination of pistachio cream and shredded kunafa, which looks amazing in an Instagram reel. April in particular was a massive month for the airport with the Eid Al Fitr holiday, Easter and the Arabian Travel Market all pushing up passenger numbers. A pop-up by the OG FIX Dessert Chocolatiers at Terminal 3 closed during the Eid Al Fitr break at DXB, while dupes from at least five different brands have continued to be available throughout the airport. A total sales figure of Dhs713 million was achieved by Dubai Duty Free during April, with the humble Dubai chocolate bar making up four percent of that final figure. Not too shabby at all. The popularity of the chocolate bar at the airport should come as no surprise, after it was revealed by travel experts Expedia in 2024 that people were flying to Dubai specifically to try the sweet treat. While there are many dupes and replicas of the viral bar, the original and best comes from FIX and can only be ordered via Deliveroo in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Flying soon?
