Former Wisconsin 'Farmer Wants a Wife' star Grace Girard is engaged to Racine city official Trevor Jung
Grace Girard's love story came after her time on "Farmer Wants a Wife." And, it's reached its best chapter yet. The Wisconsin sweetheart recently got engaged to Trevor Jung, the transit and mobility director for the City of Racine. In celebration of their one-year anniversary, the couple traveled to Europe. Jung popped the question on "the cutest little street" in Strasbourg, France, on the night of May 31, Girard shared with the Journal Sentinel over text from overseas. Girard made the exciting announcement on Instagram June 3 with an adorable photo of her and Jung cheesing as she held his face with her newly blinged-out hand, plus another shot of the stunning rock. Their dog, Beau, got a ring of his own. On her Instagram Story, Girard shared a photo of the Cavapoo — who the couple adopted earlier this year — playing with a big plush engagement ring toy. "Beau is pumped 💍," Girard captioned the pic with a smaller image overlayed of her hand with the actual ring and her fiancé behind it. In 2023, Girard — who lived in Caledonia at the time — applied for and got cast on Season 2 of "FWAW." It filmed that fall and aired last year. There were four farmers, each with a crop of daters attempting to wrangle their hearts. On the season finale, Colorado farmer Brandon Rogers chose Girard. The two split shortly after filming concluded, but remained friends. It wasn't long before Girard found love in her own backyard with Jung. They're both extroverted, have a "deep commitment" to their families, enjoy being on the go, making friends and entertaining. Here's a look back at the newly engaged couple's relationship, including how they met, and how Girard's fellow "FWAW" alums are reacting to the big news: In 2024, Jung — a former alderman and Wisconsin Democratic National Convention delegate — spoke at a leadership forum that Girard — a communications associate — attended, the couple said in an interview last June. "He did a great job and he was very endearing and I just thought he looked great in a suit," Girard said at that time. "I was very attracted to his ambition and the way he worked the crowd that was there. That just made me really start to fall for him." Girard followed Jung on Instagram and he immediately followed her back. When her season of "FWAW" was nearing the end of airing, Girard expressed her interest in Jung to two of their mutual friends and they put in a good word for her, she said. Their first date was at Milwaukee's Boone & Crockett. It was a double date with Jung's buddy, who's dating one of Girard's college friends. Girard graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in December 2019. Just like viewers were drawn to Girard's bubbly, sweet and genuine personality, so was Jung. "It's like, when you know, you know, right?" Jung said in that previous interview. "When I saw the way that she talked not only to me, but the people around her, I thought, 'Here's someone who's so sweet that I want to spend more time with.'" For Girard, Jung checks "all the boxes." "He's the best," Girard said in March. "We're just coasting along." The couple was already having a big year, with adopting Beau and Girard moving into Jung's Racine abode. Girard's dear friend, Joy Mayfield, who was also on Rogers' farm, commented on the Instagram announcement not once, but twice. "Eeepp!!!" Mayfield said. "My two favorite people in the world!! Congrats! Love you guys!! 👰🏼♀️🤵🏻♂️💍🍰🩵✨". Fellow Wisconsinite Karina Sabol — who was a finalist on "FWAW" Season 3, the season after Girard's — said: "Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉". Several castmates Girard has remained friends with since filming offered their well wishes, too. "AHHHHHH OMG CONGRATS!!!🥂🥹" Taylor BeDell said. "CONGRATS 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍" commented Kait Smith. "Congratulations!!!" Megan Lay wrote. "Oh my goshhhh" Sydney Errera said. "I had a dream about this happening the other night! Huge congratulations! The best news ever!🤍💍" wrote Emerson Sears, who was a latecomer on Rogers' farm. Channel Seven suffers embarrassing blunder in Farmer Wants a Wife promo: 'Who are those girls?'
He was one of the farmer's looking for love on the new season of Farmer Wants a Wife before he was axed from the show. But on Tuesday, photos linked to contestant Jack Rowlandson accidentally ended up on the show's social media pages. Seven has since taken the pictures down after fans pointed out the blunder on the FWAW Instagram and Facebook accounts. Before the new series dropped in April, Daily Mail Australia revealed that Rowlandson had filmed episodes of the show before he was edited out of the series. The tell-tale pictures show three 'mystery women' joining the shows ladies for the Country Ball episode which screened on Monday. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'Who are the two girls behind Thomas' ladies, maybe the farmer that got edited out?' one eagle-eyed fan commented after the snap was shared to Facebook. 'I'm wondering too,' commented another viewer on the same thread. One fan jumped to the conclusion that the women were linked to Jack's storyline. 'Maybe they forgot to edit out the girls with the farmer who was booted out?' they commented. Viewers watching the series have not seen any footage of Jack or his ladies. Seven deleted the photo showing the unknown women on Tuesday morning. It comes after FWAW made headlines earlier this year. Daily Mail Australia recently revealed that there had been a fifth farmer in the mix for the 2025 season. However Jack, 26, was cut from the show's final edit. The professional bull rider was not part of the cast when Seven officially announced the farmers starring on the show, but was in the final eight lineup. Daily Mail Australia had previously revealed there was turmoil on the set of the bucolic dating show when it emerged that the handsome reality star was seeing more than one of the contestants at the same time. Originally eight farmers, including Rowlandson, were announced as taking part in filming for the 2025 season, while Seven sifted through thousands of applicants from women wanting to appear on the show as contestants.

Farmer Wants A Wife star Ellen Dunger reveals the very surprising salary contestants are paid
Farmer Wants A Wife veteran Ellen Dunger has opened up about the harsh financial reality of appearing on the hit Channel Seven dating show. The 29-year-old sports journalist recently shared a clip to social media revealing contestants are paid less than $100 a day - with almost half of it withheld until after the season airs. 'So you get $80 a day during filming, but you don't get it on your days off. Forty per cent of that is withheld until after the show airs,' Ellen began. 'Essentially, you are waiting six month for forty per cent of $80 a day. Even while you are filming and trying to get the little money they give you out of them, it's a really difficult task. You get sweet FA in terms of money from going on the show.' Ellen added she had to continually follow up with the production team in order to finally receive what she was owed. 'I had to send heaps of emails to finally get paid, it was ridiculous! You don't know what you signed up for... You know it is going to be hard, but not how hard it is!' she added. Ellen was one of the most outspoken contestants on last year's series of FWAW, in which she was matched with Farmer Todd. In May last year, Ellen took issue with hardly appearing on the screen at all. She took to Instagram to vent her frustration at coming off as a 'mute' on the Channel Seven series, and being 'omitted' from the final edit. 'Honestly, it was the hardest thing I have ever done emotionally,' the New South Wales native, who was eliminated in episode 15, began her lengthy message. 'Having people grill you to tears day-in, day-out for more than half an hour at a time on why your previous relationships have failed, whether you think you deserve love etc is not easy.' Ellen went on to say the entire experience 'drained' her and while she doesn't regret appearing on the show, she's not 'entirely overjoyed with it'. 'As sad as that all is, I proved how bloody resilient I am and I am proud of that. I learned a lot about myself,' she said. 'I realised how many people I had in my corner and that is also very special. I got a good friend in Daisy Lamb [winner] who did, and still does, check in on me which speaks louder than any edit.' Ellen was one of the most outspoken contestants on last year's series of FWAW Ellen finished off her post by thanking people who have supported her since her exit from the show and commended the fans 'who sent emails off complaining about my obvious omission from the edit'. Fellow FWAW star Daisy who won season 14 of the series and captured Farmer Todd's heart, commented under Ellen's post to agree with her criticism of the matchmaking show. 'I'm so fkn proud of you,' Daisy wrote. 'You are one of the funniest, most down to earth amazing people and I'm so glad to call you my friend through this whole ordeal. 'A big F**K YES to the cowboy boot earrings (epic) and a big F**K YOU to production who did you so dirty (still pisses me off).'

Reality TV star reveals the jaw-dropping amount Seven paid cast members per day for top-rating series Farmer Wants A Wife
The Seven Network pays Farmer Wants A Wife (FWAW) contestants $80 per day during filming, according to a former cast member. ACM sports journalist Ellen Dunger, 29, was paired with Farmer Todd, 33, on the 2024 season of the Seven's reality dating show. FWAW sees Australian farmers meet and select a group of women from cities to spend time with them on their farms nationwide, experiencing their lives and routines before ultimately choosing one to be their spouse. After the 2025 season premiered last week, Dunger took to TikTok to reveal the contestant's $80 per day rate is restricted to filming days, which sometimes roll into the early hours of the morning. "So you get $80 a day during filming, but you don't get it on your days off," she said in a video. However, even more galling was the fact that almost half the money was "withheld" by the network. "Forty per cent of that is withheld until after it airs," said Dunger. 'So you get sweet FA in terms of money from going on the show." Dunger said the wage is further offset by the contestants having to pay for their own wardrobe on set. 'It's obviously all out of your own pocket; the dresses are all your own, and all the outfits are your own," she said. Dunger, who was eventually eliminated from the show, said Seven's wage also does not cover the participant's hair and makeup. 'And by the end, you're so emotionally drained that you just want to cry because you're just so tired," she said. In comparison, the Nine Network pays the brides and grooms on Married At First Sight $150 per day and a $125 food allowance without hair, makeup, or wardrobe, reported The Daily Telegraph in 2024. An anonymous contestant told the publication they were "broke after having appeared on the show". 'I couldn't even make my rent payments with what we were being paid," they said. 'We would film late, so I would be ordering takeaway most nights. I spent a bomb on outfits, hair and make-up, and to top it off, they didn't even let us wear what we wanted. 'If someone was wearing the same colour as someone else, they would make you change. And anyone who runs a business on Instagram is struggling because they can't post anything.' MAFS 2023 groom Jesse Burford took to Instagram in May 2023 and claimed participants on the show were paid '$1,175 each week'. According to fellow contestant Olivia Frazer in 2023, his figure is slightly higher than the '$1,100 per week' she claimed the cast received. Meanwhile, a Love Island Australia insider told So Dramatic! the 2021 cast were allowed $150 per day for expenses, and money from sponsored content while in the villa, which could be "about $1,000 per post." has contacted Seven for comment.

Farmer Wants A Wife 2025: 'Some people aren't made for reality TV': Reason behind FWAW mass exodus
Let's face it - love them or hate them, some people are just built for reality TV. The kind of people who will make a show entertaining no matter what it is, no matter what it is, or who they're with. These people are often funny, outgoing, quick-witted, and know how to work their way around a bit of drama - whether they're actually involved in it or not. But, not everyone is like that. And, that's okay! You'd just hope you would realise that before you end up on a show. Unfortunately for a few Farmer Wants A Wife contestants, this just wasn't the case, resulting in a mass exodus we kinda saw coming. Want to join the family? Sign up to our Kidspot newsletter for more stories like this. RELATED: FWAW contestant pictured with another farmer The dramatic walk out Following four successful 24-hour dates, we saw the rest of this year's FWAW contestants reunite with their respective farmers at their homes in last night's episode. These moments felt wholesome for the most part, albeit giving a little 'Helloooo, New York' (in the voice of Hannah Montana). But, you could tell pretty quickly that not everyone was ready to settle in. At Farmer Tom's farm in particular, things were more than a little tense. Whilst three of the women were ready to get involved in the shearing shed, and help him with the cooking, the other two waited behind. So, it was only somewhat of a surprise when these two women, Emmie and Bridget, slipped out in the early hours of the morning after less than 24-hours on the farm, without giving Tom so much as a goodbye. 'My time is precious, and I want to get back to Sydney, see my family and friends,' Bridget said upon her departure. Thankfully, Tom was planning on taking them both on the dreaded double date, where one would have been dumped regardless, so really, it wasn't a huge loss. RELATED: FWAW contestants go rogue sharing new relationships A few more departures As a result of the double dates that did happen, we also saw Farmer Thomas send Nat home, following a cheeky kiss with Clare, and Farmer Jarrad send home Maneesha. But, the most emotional of the three was the departure of self-proclaimed introvert, Rosie. In the episode, Farmer Corey chose Rosie along with Hunter for the double date, and immediately for Rosie, things were looking grim. And, of course, if you know you've got a 50% chance of going home, this is understandable. 'I consider this double date as being like a second option,' she says. 'I feel like it's going to be… not me.' The three of them played tennis together, relatively unsuccessfully, which ended in tears for Rosie. And, despite Corey's best efforts to reconcile her, she still ended up choosing to go home on her own volition at the end of the night. 'I came into this experience thinking that you were pretty much perfect for me… but I think I've decided to not continue anymore with the experience that we're doing at the moment,' she said to him. 'I can't fall in love this way.' You don't have to be on TV! Reality TV is notoriously a pretty difficult thing to be a part of. Countless former 'stars' have come out since their stints, exposing their mistreatment behind the scenes, inaccurate and villainising edits, and the struggles which inevitably come with being suddenly thrust into the public eye. So, for those like Rosie, I do feel bad. As a fellow introverted crier who gets easily overwhelmed, I would never go on reality TV, so while I commend her braveness in giving it a go, I also think she made the right decision to leave on her own accord. We're not made for reality TV, and that's okay! Emmie and Bridget on the other hand, I think could have been good TV - on a different show without a farm, and a guy they're just not that into. Emmie has already posted about a new boyfriend, so maybe we'll see her on The Block in the future, and Bridget could do a stint on MAFS? Whilst it would be frustrating for Farmer Tom to be left with just three girls, at least now he and Thomas are on the same page, as somewhere along the line he seems to have lost one - with only four women spotted at the dinner table before Nat's departure.
