Archery instructor pleads not guilty to sexually assaulting 15-year-old

PETALING JAYA : An archery instructor was charged in the Klang sessions court today with committing sexual assault and unnatural sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl last week.
Harian Metro reported that Faizul Taib pleaded not guilty after the two charges were read before judge Siti Aminah Ghazali.
He is accused of sexually assaulting the victim at a toilet in Klang at around 4.20pm on June 10.
The charge is under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which provides up to 20 years' imprisonment and whipping.
The father of one was also charged with committing carnal intercourse against the order of nature with the victim at the same place, date and time.
The second charge is under Section 377C of the Penal Code, which provides for five to 20 years' imprisonment and whipping.
Deputy public prosecutor Nurul Jannah Aimi proposed bail of RM15,000 with the condition that the accused do not disturb the witnesses, whether in person or by proxy.
Faizul was represented by lawyer Daneish Thayalan, who informed the court that his client had a monthly salary of RM4,000 and supported his wife and child.
'He also pays for the medication of his father, who suffers from diabetes and high blood pressure. My client has no issue with reporting to a police station monthly and requests that bail be lowered,' he said.
The court set bail at RM10,000 with one surety and set re-mention of the case for Aug 19.
