Following that, she continued making waves with pan-India projects such as The Family Man and Article 370. Throughout the years, Priya consistently showcased her acting prowess and cemented a space for herself in Indian cinema. Her last theatrical release Offical on Duty released on 20 February, 2025, starring Kunchacko Boban in the lead. She portrayed the role of Chackochan's wife, a strong-willed college-professor, who believes and stands for the right thing. In 2017, Priyamani tied the knot with Mustafa Raj, an event manager-turned-film director. In an interview, Priya revealed how their interfaith marriage became the reason for them to receive backlash online. While speaking to Filmfare, she said, 'When I announced my engagement, I just wanted to share this happy moment with people whom I honestly believed genuinely cared for me. However, I don't know for what rhyme or reason, unnecessary hate started pouring in, and the love jihad accusations followed. They even went to the extent of saying that, when we have kids tomorrow, they would join ISIS.' The actress added while she understood people wanting to say things to celebs, but the comments affected her immensely. 'I understand that since I belong to the media and the film industry, you can say what you want. But why do you want to attack somebody who is not at all (a part of these things)? You don't even know who that person is. It took a toll on me for 2-3 days because I kept getting a lot of messages. Even now, if I post something with him, nine out of ten comments will be about our religion or caste,' Priya said.

While TV shows have long been a source of entertainment, many also offer valuable knowledge. Some serials not only entertain but also deliver meaningful life lessons and wisdom. A perfect example of such show is Malgudi Days. Malgudi Days is one of the most cherished Indian television series that first aired on Doordarshan in 1986. Based on the short stories of renowned author R.K. Narayan, the series is based on the fictional town of Malgudi, capturing the essence of everyday life in South India. Helmed by the late Shankar Nag, the show starred many renowned actors including Girish Karnad, B Jayashree, and Deven Bhojani among others. Each episode of the show is celebrated for its simple yet profound storytelling, relatable characters, and the nostalgic portrayal of Indian society. Malgudi Days was filmed in Agumbe, Karnataka, and featured music composed by L. Vaidyanathan, with illustrations by R.K. Laxman, Narayan's brother. Its authentic storytelling and relatable portrayal of rural life captivated audiences hearts and became a classic show in Indian television's history. There was tons of hard work and dedication behind the show's making. Art director, John Devaraj, completely transformed village of Agumbe into Malgudi. Reportedly, donkeys were purchased from Shimoga, while elephants were brought from Bengaluru. Moreover, makers borrowed money from their friends for other logistical reasons. The set was then finally ready, looking perfect in every which way. Even today, Malgdi Days hold a special place in the hearts of viewers. Originally released in both English and Hindi, the series spanned 54 episodes over four seasons. In 2006, it was revived with 15 new episodes directed by Kavitha Lankesh. With an impressive IMDb rating of 9.4, Malgudi Days surpasses many of today's popular OTT hits like Mirzapur, Panchayat, The Family Man, and others.

OTTplay Awards 2025: Manoj Bajpayee, Imtiaz Ali, Kajol and Jyotika win big at a night of pan-Indian OTT excellence
The OTTplay Awards 2025 honoured the crème de la crème of India's booming digital entertainment industry, bringing together the finest talents from the OTT space. Held at JW Marriott, Mumbai, on March 22, the event truly embodied its tagline, 'One Nation, One OTT Award,' as stars from across the country came together to celebrate storytelling in the digital era in an unforgettable night, hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubbra Sait. The night was a spectacle of talent and glamour, with over 80 celebrities, including Manoj Bajpayee, Jaideep Ahlawat, Rajkummar Rao, Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Sriimurali, Kajol, Hina Khan, Kani Kusruti, Avinash Tiwary, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwary, Vedhika, Raghav Juyal, Imtiaz Ali, Kunal Kohli, Anu Malik, and Aditi Rao Hydari, gracing the event with their presence. The third edition of the OTTplay Awards celebrated outstanding achievements across OTT films and series, felicitating critically acclaimed projects such as Panchayat, Girls Will Be Girls, Freedom at Midnight, Paatal Lok, Poacher, IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack and Black Warrant. Sunny Kaushal's chilling act in Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba earned him the Best Actor in a Negative Role award. Southern stars made their mark as well. Kani Kusruti, celebrated for her work in multiple projects, was named Versatile Performer of the Year. One of the highlights was when Jyotika, who won Best Supporting Actor (Female) for Dabba Cartel, presented her co-star Nimisha Sajayan the award for Best Actor (Female) – Critics for Poacher – and that too in fluent Marathi, winning cheers from the audience. Kannada star Sriimurali took home the Trailblazer of the Year award for Bagheera, and Priya Mani won Best Actor (Female) in a Comedy for Bhamakaalapam 2. Pradeep Maddali shared the Best Director (Series) for Vikkatakavi with Freedom at Midnight maker Nikkhil Advani, while Neeraj Madhav and Abishek Kumar earned accolades for their performances in Love Under Construction and Thalaivettiyaan Paalayam, respectively. Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar was also honoured for her contributions to Kannada cinema. The evening was filled with nostalgia and camaraderie. The Family Man team of Manoj Bajpayee, Priya Mani, Neeraj Madhav and Jaideep Ahlawat, who plays a key role in the show's upcoming season, met up at the event. Manoj also reconnected with filmmaker Sanjay Gupta and surprised Nimisha Sajayan with words of admiration for her work. While Rana Daggubati couldn't make it due to an injury on the sets of Rana Naidu Season 2, wife Miheeka Daggubati accepted the Best Talk Show Host award on his behalf for The Rana Daggubati Show. The night was filled with unforgettable moments, from Anupam Kher mesmerising the audience with a live masterclass, performing a scene from his 1984 film Saaransh, to Raghav Juyal setting the stage on fire with his signature slow-motion dance. Aditi Rao Hydari captivated everyone with a soulful rendition of Lag Jaa Gale, while Abishek Kumar had the crowd in splits with his hilarious roast of the hosts. 'Family Man' actor Rohit Basfore found dead in Guwahati; family alleges murder Rohit Basfore, best known for his role in the hit web series 'Family Man' Season 3, was reportedly found dead after a day out with friends in the Garbhanga forest in Assam on Sunday evening. According to a report by Odisha Bytes, Rohit, originally from Assam, had returned to his hometown a few months ago. Reports on various local news portals state that the actor had gone out with a group of friends on Sunday afternoon. He reportedly left home around 12:30 PM and reportedly informed his family about the short outing. However, concern grew when his family lost contact with him later in the day. Reports then state that a friend informed the family of an accident. Although Basfore was rushed to a hospital, he was declared dead on arrival.
