Rotten Tomatoes ranks all Fast and Furious films with number 1 'one of the greats'
Fast and Furious is a franchise that has spanned two decades, with 11 movies to its name. But which one is the best, according to Rotten Tomatoes?
The Fast and Furious franchise is a powerhouse in its own league, boasting an impressive 11 films over two decades and a massive fan following.
Since its explosive debut in 2001, the series has attracted considerable attention and sparked endless debates about which instalment reigns supreme. Now, thanks to viewer votes, Rotten Tomatoes has ranked the films based on real-life reviews.
Using their Tomatometer, the website arranged the films from highest-rated to lowest-rated, and some fans might be surprised by the top five entries. However, it's no shock that Fast and Furious 7 clinched the top spot with an 82% rating.
This film marked a turning point for the franchise, following the tragic death of cast member Paul Walker.
roduction began in September 2013 but was halted when Walker sadly died in a car accident, and the film is dedicated to his memory. When filming resumed, Walker's brothers stepped in to finish any remaining scenes, and the film was eventually released in 2015, featuring the poignant song See You Again as its soundtrack.
Upon release, it was a box office sensation and became the fourth-highest-grossing film of all time, reports the Mirror US.
A viewer penned a glowing five-star review, stating: "Definitely one of the strongest films in the franchise and, in my opinion, the best, this film has an incredible amount of action balanced out perfectly with the level of emotion and love put into this film by all involved and the fan base itself after the passing of the amazing Paul Walker."
They continued to heap praise on the movie: "This film will go down in history as one of the greats with perhaps the most heartwarming ending ever to a film that will bring anyone to tears who knows the full meaning behind the scene."
Claiming the second spot on the list is the gripping 2011 action thriller Fast Five, with Fast and Furious 6 not far behind in third place. Both instalments feature a beloved cast that packs a punch, starring household names like Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, and Eva Mendes, ensuring a cinematic experience packed with top-notch talent.
The less favourable end of the list is occupied by the 2009 flick Fast and Furious, known as the fourth entry in the saga. In this film, viewers follow Dominic Toretto, played by Diesel, joining forces with FBI agent Brian O'Conner, portrayed by Walker, as they seek vengeance against a drug lord following the savage murder of Toretto's partner.
Before you get to the end of the list, in fourth place is Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw, followed by The Fate of the Furious, F9 The Fast Saga, and the original film that kicked off the franchise, The Fast and the Furious, which holds the seventh spot. In eighth position, with a modest 56% overall score, is the latest instalment in the series, Fast X, closely trailed by The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and rounding off the top ten is 2 Fast 2 Furious.
