A Family-Owned Hawaiian Restaurant Shutters, and More June 2025 Restaurant Closings in Austin

In a fast-paced place like Austin, restaurants come and go all the time. Do you know of an Austin-area restaurant closure that's not on this list? Drop us a line at austin@ This divey sports bar in North Austin announced on Instagram that July 2025 will be its final month of operation. The owner posted that the closing was due to 'a variety of reasons,' and that Bullseye Bakery will be taking over the space. The post also teases specials and 'fun things' for July for those who swing by the restaurant before its closure. The owners of this Hawaiian spot announced on Instagram that the restaurant is for sale and the family will be 'moving back to Hawaii to spend time with family and care for our Kupuna,' which is Hawaiian for grandparent. They would prefer to sell it to someone who will maintain the spirit of the place, if not the exact menu. The Valentino family's last day running the restaurant will be July 18. This pretty little spot just south of the Colorado River held its final service on Sunday, June 22. In a post on Instagram, owner Felix Jimenez-Gamez wrote, 'We opened Mour Cocina Bodega with brunch… and brunch will be our final shift.' While Jimenez-Gamez didn't detail the reasons for the closure, he did note that he has started a GoFundMe to cover the final business expenses and loans, and ensure the staff receive their final paychecks. In another post, he expressed some hope that the restaurant will open again. After the Fourth of July weekend, there will be one less brunch spot in San Antonio. The restaurant announced it is closing its Los Patios location in a Facebook post early in June. The Bandera Road location will remain open. The Cafe employs people recovering from addiction, and its menu has items priced as a suggested donation. The restaurants are set up as non-profits that benefit the Smithville-based Serenity Star Recovery Resource Center. No specific reason was given for this closure. After 63 years in business, this San Antonio taqueria, known for its puffy tacos and fried fish, will close on June 28. The building is being demolished to make way for an overpass. Owner Alex Pruneda sold the land and restaurant to accommodate the construction project and plans to retire, according to a report in the San Antonio Express-News .
