No. 1 offensive tackle in 2026 cancels Oklahoma official visit

No. 1 offensive tackle in 2026 cancels Oklahoma official visit The Oklahoma Sooners have received good news over the last few days in the 2026 recruiting class. But on Monday afternoon, their recruiting efforts took a bit of a hit with five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo. Ojo canceled his official visit, which was scheduled for the ChampU BBQ on June 20-22. Ojo told On3's Hunter Shelton, 'Not needed. Nearing my decision a lot sooner than later.' Ojo is the No. 1 offensive tackle in the class, according to 247Sports, and a consensus top-five tackle in the cycle. The Lake Ridge, Texas product has already taken visits to Colorado, Ole Miss, Florida, Ohio State, and Michigan. He's scheduled to be in Austin this coming weekend. The Sooners currently have two offensive linemen committed in the 2026 class, Will Conroy and Noah Best. Oklahoma is also in a strong position for four-star offensive tackle Deacon Schmitt. Oklahoma and coach Bill Bedenbaugh put together a strong 2025 recruiting class with the additions of Michael Fasusi and Ryan Fodje and are off to a strong start in 2026. Coveted Star Visits Michigan Immediately After Ohio State Meetings

Coveted Star Visits Michigan Immediately After Ohio State Meetings originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Ohio State Buckeyes are pushing hard to land the top recruit from Texas. But they have Big Ten competition for the prospect. Advertisement One week after five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo officially visited the Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio, Ojo will be in Ann Arbor, Michigan to see the Michigan Wolverines during the first full weekend of June. "Felix Ojo has been a busy man. He has already taken official visits to Colorado, Florida, Ohio State and Ole Miss," On3's Chad Simmons wrote. "The five-star offensive tackle out of Texas will be in Ann Arbor this weekend and the Wolverines have some ground to make up. Texas is setting the pace and Ohio State looks to be the Longhorns' top competition heading into the weekend. "Can the Wolverines become a contender? This is their chance. They would love to dip into Texas, like they did with Ty Haywood a year ago, and steal one." Based on Simmons' assessment, Ohio State has a better chance of landing the five-star recruit. Advertisement But the question is whether Michigan can move the needle for Ojo this weekend. Ojo had already posted a picture from the beginning of his Ann Arbor visit early Friday morning. Based on the 247 Sports composite rankings, Ojo is the No. 2 offensive tackle and top Texas recruit in the 2026 class. Ojo is also a top 10 recruit overall, sitting at No. 7 on the 247 Sports composite rankings for the entire class. The tackle will play his final high school season at Lake Ridge in Mansfield, Texas this fall. Ohio State Predicted To Be Dealt Blow on Projected $809,000 Star From SEC Foe

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been strong contenders in the national recruiting landscape, especially when it comes to landing top-tier offensive linemen. However, they're now facing stiff competition from SEC rival Texas Longhorns for one of the nation's best , Felix Ojo. As the No. 4 overall prospect, No. 3 offensive tackle, and Texas' top recruit in the 2025 cycle, Ojo is a hot commodity. And while Ohio State has kept itself in the mix, momentum seems to be slipping. Felix Ojo's recruiting journey has been nothing short of a wild ride. The 6-foot-6 tackle has drawn attention from powerhouses like Texas, Ohio State, Michigan Wolverines, Oklahoma Sooners, Florida Gators, and even Colorado Buffaloes. According to On3's Chad Simmons, 'Everywhere he goes, Ojo is impressed, and the staff shows him and his family love, but Texas has been the school setting the pace in this recruitment for some time. Others are contending, but until I hear enough to change my thoughts, I like the Longhorns.' Advertisement Despite strong visits elsewhere, Ojo has consistently come away impressed by the Texas staff's approach, especially the love shown to his family. Ohio State isn't out of the race just yet, but the odds aren't in their favor. On3's Steve Wiltfong noted, 'The Longhorns have looked like they've had the edge for Felix Ojo for much of his process. Ohio State is a school not to be slept on, though.' Meanwhile, Florida is trying to make a late push. After a promising visit during the Orange and Blue Game, the Gators secured an official visit. Co-offensive line coach Jonathan Decoster is giving it everything, but Florida needs a perfect weekend to leap ahead, especially if Ojo plans to commit before the season kicks off. For now, Texas looks like the likely landing spot, and Ohio State may soon feel the sting of losing the offensive tackle to an SEC rival. Related: Buccaneers Make Emeka Egbuka Announcement on Friday

Five-star offensive tackel Felix Ojo cancels Notre Dame trip to visit Ohio State

Five-star offensive tackel Felix Ojo cancels Notre Dame trip to visit Ohio State Ohio State recruiting has been on a hot streak for the past month. The Buckeyes have received commitments from six blue chip recruits since March 10 and now sit with the No. 3 ranked class for 2026 according to 247Sports. Spring practice will come to a close this Saturday with the annual Spring Game and the OSU coaching staff is hoping to snag a few more big names before it's all said and done. One of the biggest targets for Ohio State is five-star Felix Ojo, the No. 2 rated offensive tackle and No. 7 overall player in the 2026 class. Ojo raised some eyebrows with his recent posts on social media. With an official visit scheduled with the Buckeyes on May 30, Ojo shared on her personal X (formerly Twitter) account that he would be in Columbus April 10-11. What is even more interesting is Ojo was supposed to be visiting Notre Dame this weekend but posted on X that he had canceled that trip. Being a Texas native, Ojo has been long considered a Longhorn lean, but maybe the tide is turning in favor of the Scarlet and Gray. Ojo shared with Sam Spiegelman of that ever since new offensive line coach Tyler Bowen showed up at Ohio State, he has felt like a priority for the Buckeyes. This weekend's visit could go a long way in swaying the young man out of his home state. It would be another massive get for Bowen who has already secured pledges from four-star tackle Maxwell Riley, four-star tackle Sam Greer, and three-star lineman Tucker Smith.

Texas 5-star offensive tackle calls off his Notre Dame football visit

Texas 5-star offensive tackle calls off his Notre Dame football visit While there has been plenty of positive recruiting movement for Notre Dame football, there was bound to be some bad news and that happened on Tuesday with 5-star Texas offensive tackle Felix Ojo. The 6-foot, 6-inch and 275-pound lineman had previously scheduled a visit to South Bend for this coming Thursday, but he went to social media to tell everyone that the visit will not be happening. The No. 25 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings will instead focus on teams like Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan, Ohio State and others. It's unfortunate news for the Irish, as Ojo is the last remaining top-100 tackle that they were recruiting hard. Notre Dame will now shift its focus to other recruits, but if there is one position that fans shouldn't worry about in recruiting, it is on the offensive line. Other recruits will be the benefactor of Ojo's decision, and while this isn't what many of us wanted to hear, it's the reality of recruiting.
