#SHOWBIZ: Zur Eda receives award after 38 years as a singer
KUALA LUMPUR: "After 38 years of service to the country's art industry, I am deeply honoured to receive the Legendary Performer in Entertainment Industry Award from FemForward 2025," veteran singer Zur Eda Mokhtar shared on her Instagram yesterday.
The 60-year-old songstress, whose real name is Zuraidah and who was once hailed as Malaysia's own Sade in the early days of her career in the 1980s, expressed her gratitude.
"Praise be to God, this is yet another divine blessing that has been continuously and abundantly bestowed upon me."
"This award," she added, "is not only a recognition for myself, but also for all those who have been a part of this artistic journey with me."
Zur Eda accompanied her post with a photo, revealing that she received the award at the FemForward 2025 ceremony, organised by Synergy Connect Holdings Sdn Bhd at a hotel in Petaling Jaya yesterday.
"I am eternally grateful to FemForward for this meaningful honour," she wrote in the caption.
Known for her iconic ballads and soulful vocals, Zur Eda continues to be a wellspring of inspiration in the local music scene.
This recognition from FemForward 2025 further solidifies her position as one of the nation's most respected and enduring legendary singers.
