UAE gear up for 2025 Pan Arab Junior and Ladies Golf Championship in Egypt
The United Arab Emirates will take centre stage once again at the 2025 Pan Arab Junior and Ladies Golf Championship, as the nation's rising stars prepare to showcase their talent in Cairo from May 7 to 10.
The prestigious tournament, hosted by the Egyptian Golf Federation and sanctioned by the Arab Golf Federation (AGF), will be played across two premier venues - Madinaty Golf Club and Katameya Dunes Golf Club.
As one of the region's strongest emerging golf nations, the UAE has consistently produced standout performances in recent AGF tournaments, both at the individual and team levels. The upcoming championship presents another golden opportunity for Emirati golfers to test themselves against the best players from across the Arab world.
A Platform for UAE's Rising Stars
The UAE has been a dominant force in regional golf, thanks to its structured development programs and a thriving junior circuit. With the Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) playing an instrumental role in nurturing young talent, the country has seen an influx of skilled players making their mark on the international stage.
Team UAE will enter the championship with high expectations, drawing confidence from their previous strong showings in AGF events. Competing in multiple divisions—including junior boys and girls, as well as the ladies' category—UAE golfers will look to build on their recent successes and bring home more silverware.
Omar Hisham Talaat Moustafa, newly appointed President of the Egyptian Golf. Federation, expressed his enthusiasm saying: 'It is an honour for Egypt and the EGF to host the first amateur event on the Arab Golf Federation's 2025 calendar. Co-hosting the championship at Madinaty and Katameya Dunes marks a new chapter for golf in Egypt under the Federation's new leadership.
'We have ambitious plans to elevate the sport and bring top-level amateur and professional
tournaments to Egypt, the Arab world, the MENA region, and Africa,' He added: 'For the first time, this year's championship will actively encourage public attendance, especially from Madinaty City. We are organizing a 'Festival of Golf' at Madinaty Golf Club on Thursday and Friday, with golf activations, entertainment, live music, and food stations.,' said Moustafa.
'We aim to attract families, youth, and individuals of all backgrounds to enjoy the game in a fun and welcoming environment—and hopefully begin their journey in golf through our 'Pyramid of Learning' approach.'
"We look forward to showcasing our outstanding golf facilities, welcoming everyone with the warmth of Egyptian hospitality, and delivering an unforgettable experience for all players, delegations, guests, and spectators.'
A Tournament Steeped in Tradition
The Pan Arab Junior and Ladies Golf Championship is a cornerstone event in the AGF calendar, featuring five divisions across different age categories. Many of these divisions have a rich history, with some being contested for over two decades. The championship will welcome golfers from 16 Arab nations, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Morocco, and host nation Egypt.
For the first time, the tournament will actively encourage public attendance, creating a festival-like atmosphere at Madinaty Golf Club. Fans will have the chance to witness the region's top amateur golfers in action while enjoying live entertainment, food stations, and interactive golf experiences aimed at growing the game among new audiences.
Looking Ahead
With UAE players poised to make a significant impact at the championship, the tournament is expected to reinforce the nation's standing as a powerhouse in Arab
golf. As the countdown begins to the opening tee shots in Cairo, all eyes will be on Team UAE as they strive to add another chapter of success to their growing legacy in the sport.
