WNBA fans' fears for Caitlin Clark spark calls for Fever head coach to be FIRED just six games into season

Caitlin Clark has only been out of WNBA action for a week and the Indiana Fever domino effect of not having her in the lineup has fans' fears leading to call for Stephanie White's job. Clark has a quad injury that the current timeline has her returning at the earliest next Saturday against the New York Liberty. A premature return to the hardwood due to the Fever losing three straight, two with Clark out of the lineup, has led some Indiana fans to point the finger straight at White, looking for her to be fired just six games into the season. White returned to the Fever this offseason after serving as the Connecticut Sun's head coach, and has been affiliated previously with the organization as a player, assistant coach, and as the bench boss several years ago. The rocky 2-4 start with expectations sky high, and issues keeping the team afloat without Clark, has put early season pressure on White most did not expect with a revamped Fever roster. There is plenty of the WNBA season to go, but little time to waste for those wanting to see Clark and the Fever succeed. The Fever have a 2-4 record just six games into White's second tenure as Indiana's bench boss 'Her being absent is not why we are losing. Stephanie White need to step out of the way and let this team run the offense from the second half of last season. The coach is trash right now,' one fan said on social media. 'Fire Stephanie White,' a second stated, not leaving their thoughts to the imagination. 'White is not the answer as coach and (Kelsey) Mitchell steps back for a 3 on the final shot instead of going to the rim and possibly getting a foul,' a third added. 'I said from the beginning that coach doesn't know what she is doing. It's unbelievable that she doesn't bring kk to play,' a fourth concluded. A collection of social-media messages about the Fever struggling and White's coaching status The Fever's schedule does lighten a bit in the next week, with the Washington Mystics coming to Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Tuesday before another game against Angel Reese and the the Chicago Sky four days later. Should Clark not be able to go for either of those games, her return looks likely for June 10 on the road against the Atlanta Dream, who the WNBA sophomore helped defeat in Georgia earlier this season. As of Saturday night, the Fever are the first team out of a playoff spot, within a game of the three teams directly in front of them - the Seattle Storm, Golden State Valkyries and the Mystics.

Angel Reese shares TikTok trolling 'white girl' Caitlin Clark as bitter WNBA rivalry intensifies

Angel Reese ratcheted up her feud with Caitlin Clark on Tuesday as she re-posted a TikTok trolling her 'white girl' rival. The pair clashed over the weekend, as Clark was assessed a flagrant foul for slapping across Reese's arm and ultimately sending her to the ground. An incensed Reese then beelined for Clark when she got up before others intervened to keep them separated. And while Reese later said the foul from Clark was a 'basketball play,' she's evidently still thinking about the moment, as she re-posted a video insulting Clark. The video included a screengrab of an X post which was captioned: 'white gyal running from the fade.' The X post included a photo of Clark walking away from Reese during their altercation. The re-post no longer appears to be on Reese's TikTok feed. Clark sent Reese crashing to the floor as she slapped across her arm to prevent a layup Earlier in the day, Reese posted a short clip of herself silently looking at the camera while the Beyonce song 'Formation' plays. The short video includes the lyrics: 'You know you that b***h when you cause all this conversation. Always stay gracious, best revenge is your paper.' Following the bust-up in Saturday's game, the WNBA announced it was investigating alleged racial abuse directed at Reese from Fever fans. 'The WNBA strongly condemns racism, hate, and discrimination in all forms - they have no place in our league or in society. We are aware of the allegations and are looking into the matter,' the league said. Reese said after practice on Tuesday that 'there's no place in this league for that.' 'I think the WNBA and our team and our organization have done a great job supporting me,' she told reporters. 'I've had communication from everyone, from so many people across this league. It could happen to me, it can happen to anyone. And I think they've done a good job supporting us in this.' Clark also made her feelings clear on the alleged abuse, telling reporters: 'There's no place for that in our game, there's no place for that in society.' Notably, Sky coach Tyler Marsh said the team found about the allegations when everyone else did, and indicated they were not aware of any hate speech during the game. During an in-game interview with ESPN over the weekend, Clark said there was 'nothing malicious' about her foul on Reese. 'It's just a good take foul,' she said. 'You know, either Angel gets a wide open two points, or we send them to the free-throw line.'

BREAKING NEWS WNBA launches racism investigation after Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark clash

The WNBA has launched a racism investigation a day after Angel Reese got into an on-court altercation with Caitlin Clark during the opening-weekend game between the Fever and the Sky. The league announced the investigation on Sunday with its statement pointing to the Indiana-Chicago game as where the incident took place. The racist incident in question did directly have to do with Reese but did not have anything to do with Clark's hard foul on Reese and the responding heated matter, per the Indianapolis Star. Instead, it was Fever fans in the Gainbridge Fieldhouse crowd who are the target of the league's investigation.
