Crash in Highland County claims life of 70-year-old woman
HIGHLAND COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash in Highland County that killed a woman from Monterey on June 11.
According to VSP, a 2021 Subaru Forester, driven by 70-year-old Rebecca Hunt Walker of Monterey, was heading south on Potomac River Road near Sunset Drive around 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Walker went off the right side of the road, hit a tree, and then overturned.
Ms. Walker was taken to the University of Virginia Hospital, where she later died from her injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt, VSP said.
Virginia State Police are still investigating the crash.
