Finland, Morocco Strengthen Business Ties at Casablanca Seminar
Marrakech – Finnish and Moroccan businesses are strengthening collaboration in key sectors such as water, health, and digitalization through the 'Doing Business with Finland,' seminar, which is taking place today in Casablanca.
Organized in a joint effort by the Finnpartnership, Business Finland in Morocco, the Finnish Embassy, and the Confederation Generale des Entreprises du Maroc (CGEM), the event aims to foster business partnerships and knowledge exchange between the two countries.
Finland's Ambassador to Morocco, Marjaana Sall, hosted a networking event at the Finnish residence prior to the event, bringing together a delegation of Finnish companies and universities specializing in water management.
Speaking about the purpose of the initiative at the event, she stated, 'We are promoting Finnish and Moroccan business interests, more collaboration, more contacts, more partnerships between Finnish and Moroccan businesses and universities and research institutions.'
Morocco faces significant challenges in water scarcity, increasing the demand for advanced solutions in water recycling, monitoring, smart metering, desalination, as well as wastewater treatment.
Finnish companies, known for their expertise in sustainable water management, are well-positioned to offer innovative solutions in this sector.
As for healthcare, the Moroccan sector is undergoing a major transformation with a focus on governance, workforce development, infrastructure, and digitalization.
Finnish expertise in medical technology, digital health solutions, and healthcare infrastructure development could play a crucial role in supporting these reforms.
As Morocco moves forward with its Digital Morocco 2030 strategy, backed by over $1.1 billion in funding, the country is looking to enhance its digital infrastructure, upskill young professionals, and support startups in the tech sector.
Amid this progress, Finnish businesses and universities specializing in digital innovation are exploring opportunities to contribute to this ambitious vision.
The seminar serves as a key platform for strengthening economic ties between Finland and Morocco, allowing companies, universities, and policymakers to connect and develop partnerships that support sustainable development and technological advancement.
