MANSFIELD, Ohio (WJW) — Multiple inmates at Richland Correctional Institution (RICI) overdosed late Wednesday night, prompting a large-scale emergency response from the Mansfield Fire Department. According to Mansfield Firefighters IAFF Local 266, crews were dispatched to the state prison for 'multiple simultaneous overdose emergencies' in what they called a 'complex and demanding incident.' In accordance with ODRC policy, these three individuals were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and returned a few hours later.
