DANVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The public has spoken — Danville's chapter of AMBUCS is honoring the 92nd First Citizen. This year Justice Rita Garman was selected. Annual Memorial Day ceremony held in Danville AMBUCS president Diane Carlton said she's had a tremendous career… Serving 49 years on the bench in Illinois as an associate judge, a member of Illinois Supreme Court, and Chief Justice. Carlton said they will be celebrating her later this week. 'It's just one thing that that's been done for, well, now 92 years. That, it's not about people with disabilities, but it was something that was started and we think it's a good thing to continue. It's just one of our community events that we do,' Carlton said. The banquet will be held at the Turtle Run Golf Club at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The organization has also turned 100 years old this year, and they're looking to have a few events to celebrate coming up. VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Beach Jaycees named Delceno Miles as the 2025 First Citizen of Virginia Beach Wednesday. Since 1950, this award recognizes city residents who have made outstanding contributions to the community. Miles was surprised at the Black Eye Peas restaurant at Lynnhaven Mall, and was recognized due to her visionary leadership, civic engagement and dedication to inclusive growth. She was greeted by civic leaders, including former Gov. Bob McDonnell who was named First Citizen last year. 'We could not have had a better choice,' McDonnell said. 'She is a kind, gentle, humorous, smart soul. represents the best of Virginia Beach and she is always about the service of others. That's what we believe in Virginia Beach. It is such a beautiful town, a great place to live. People like Delceno Miles. Said Miles: 'Mama this if for you. Thank you.' India's Shoppers Stop FY25 sales up 5%, PAT plunges 92% YoY

Indian department store with premier fashion brands Shoppers Stop Ltd has reported sales of ₹4,436 crore (~$532 million) in fiscal 2025 (FY25) on basis of GAAP, an increase of 5 per cent year-over-year (YoY). GAAP EBITDA stood at ₹751 crore, a marginal 2 per cent decline YoY. The profit before tax (PBT) under GAAP dropped to nil from ₹ 100 crore, and profit after tax (PAT) fell sharply by 92 per cent to ₹6 crore. GAAP gross margin improved by 60 basis points (bps) to 41.3 per cent. On a non-GAAP basis, sales rose by 4 per cent to ₹5,427 crore (~$650.5 million). PBT declined by 77 per cent to ₹18 crore, while non-GAAP PAT declined 59 per cent to ₹23 crore, whereas non-GAAP EBITDA fell by 19 per cent to ₹183 crore, while gross margin also expanded by 60 basis points (bps) to 37.7 per cent. Shoppers Stop has reported GAAP sales of ₹4,436 crore (~$532 million) in FY25, up 5 per cent YoY, with a 2 per cent dip in EBITDA and a sharp PAT fall. Non-GAAP sales rose 4 per cent to ₹5,427 crore (~$650.5 million). The company saw modest growth and strong margin expansion in Q4. Premium brands drove 65 per cent of sales. It remains focused on premiumisation, digital engagement and store expansion. In the fourth quarter (Q4) of FY25, the company reported GAAP sales of ₹1,022 crore (~$122.5 million), registering a modest 2 per cent YoY growth. On a non-GAAP basis, sales rose by 4 per cent to ₹1,284 crore (~$154 million). GAAP gross margin expanded significantly by 380 bps to 44.3 per cent, while non-GAAP gross margin improved by 210 bps to 38.8 per cent. GAAP EBITDA declined by 6 per cent to ₹187 crore, whereas non-GAAP EBITDA saw a 2 per cent YoY rise to ₹38 crore. GAAP PBT turned negative at ₹5 crore, down from ₹28 crore, while non-GAAP PBT declined by 72 per cent to ₹1 crore. GAAP PAT dropped sharply by 91 per cent to ₹2 crore, whereas non-GAAP PAT increased by 119 per cent to ₹9 crore. During Q4 FY25, First Citizen members contributed 82 per cent to the company's sales, with 69 per cent coming from repeat customers and 13 per cent from new members. Premium Black Card members accounted for 16 per cent of sales, reflecting a strong 38 per cent YoY growth. The company maintained robust customer engagement through continuous programmes and campaigns, with AI-personalised videos driving a 2x increase in conversion. Private Brands recorded ₹145 crore in sales, contributing 11 per cent to overall sales and 16 per cent within the apparel segment, supported by improved productivity, higher intake margins, and a focus on digital prints and sustainable fabrics. Store productivity remained a key focus for the retail group as 21 new stores were launched during Q4, including 5 department stores, 15 Intune outlets, and 1 beauty store, with a capital expenditure of ₹52 crore in Q4 and ₹192 crore for FY25. 'Shoppers Stop delivered consistent performance despite continued softness in demand and a challenging macro environment. We achieved 4 per cent revenue growth with 3 per cent like-for-kike growth (non-GAAP), marking the second consecutive quarter of LFL growth. Our two campaigns 'India weds with Shoppers Stop' a comprehensive wedding shopping experience, offering a wide array of wedding-related products and services and 'Gifts of Love' an initiative featuring a range of products designed to be given as gifts, celebrating love in various forms are successful,' said Kavindra Mishra, managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) at Shoppers Stop . 'Our strategy of premiumisation continues to yield strong results, with premium brands contributing 65 per cent of total sales, +7 per cent YoY. Shoppers Stop slips as Q4 PAT plunges 86% YoY to Rs 2 crore

Shoppers Stop declined 7.04% to Rs 513 after the company's standalone net profit tanked 88.56% to Rs 2.47 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 21.60 crore recorded in Q4 FY24. Revenue from operations increased 2.27% year on year (YoY) to Rs 1,022.36 crore in the fourth quarter of FY25. The firm posted a pre-tax loss of Rs 4.53 crore in Q4 FY25 compared to a pre-tax profit of Rs 28.48 crore for Q4 FY24. Gross margin was at 44.3% in Q4 FY25, compared to 40.5% registered in Q4 FY24. EBITDA declined 6% to Rs 187 crore in Q4 FY25 from Rs 199 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter the previous year. The average transaction value (ATV) rose 8% YoY to Rs 4,942 crore in Q4 FY25, led by premiumization. During the quarter, private brand sales were at Rs 145 crore, with an overall contribution of 11% to the sales and 16% to apparel sales. The beauty distribution business continued to outperform with Rs 67 crore sales during the quarter with over 61% YoY growth and Rs 236 crore YTD. Shoppers Stop opened 5 department stores, 1 beauty store, and 15 Intune stores in this quarter, aggregating to 21 stores during the quarter, while capex invested was Rs 52 crore for Q4 and Rs 192 crore in FY25. The firm's First Citizen members contributed 82% to overall sales, out of which 69% were repeat and 13% were new members. The company reported a GAAP EBITDA of Rs 187 crore in Q4 FY25, compared to Rs 199 crore in Q4 FY24. Non-GAAP EBITDA stood at Rs 38 crore in the March 2025 quarter, registering a growth of 2% YoY. Meanwhile, the company's board, in a meeting held on Tuesday, approved the appointment of Nirvik Singh as chairman, following the retirement of B.S. Nagesh. Additionally, the board approved an additional investment of up to Rs 50 crore in Global SS Beauty Brands, its wholly owned subsidiary, through a subscription to rights issue.
