"It Is Grown Up More": Joe Locke Teases What Fans Can Expect From The "Heartstopper" Movie
Joe Locke has had arguably one of the biggest young careers in recent years. Joe's very first acting projects have been Netflix's Heartstopper, where he stars as Charlie Spring, and then he followed it up with Marvel's Agatha All Along, playing Wanda Maximoff's son, Billy. Related: This 17-Question IQ Test Will Reveal How Much Celebrity Knowledge You Have He recalled his first — of MANY — auditions for Marvel, with the first audition including reading the scene when Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) interrogates Billy in Episode 1. Joe also revealed that a lot of Heartstopper is actually improvised, saying, "There's a lot of montages and so, in the script it'll just be like, 'Nick and Charlie play in the snow.' A lot of it is improv. I am not the best at improv. I'm great at improv if I'm, like, not being so nice to someone because it's easier. But, like, Heartstopper improv is a lot of cushy, nice stuff, so Kit is far better at that than me, so he leads it often." He told us, "It is grown up more. But it's still Heartstopper. I think we're trying to really make it [as] cinematic as possible and really finish the story in a really nice way."
