Junior League of Denver fundraiser to be a Moonlight Masquerade
The Journey is the Junior League of Denver's signature fundraising event. It's a semi-formal evening which includes cocktails, dinner, a program that celebrates the organization's accomplishments over the year, a live auction, a silent auction, music, and dancing. This year CBS News Colorado's First at Four anchor Mekialaya White will emcee the event. "Folks can get dressed up and bring their favorite mask and just expect a really great night," said Carson Maczuzak, President of the Junior League of Denver. The Junior League of Denver was organized in 1918 as a way to train women to be community leaders. That important work continues 107-years later with a specific mission of disrupting the cycle of systemic poverty that limits women and families in Denver. "The Journey is one of our biggest fundraisers for our organization, and the money raised goes to support our mission," Maczuzak explained. "All the money raised does go to the training of our members and the work that we're able to do in the community." The Journey Moonlight Masquerade is at the Mile High Station. The event is capped at 350 seats. General admission tickets are $205 or you can go for the VIP experience. "The VIP experience is a ton of fun. You get an early cocktail reception with a signature cocktail. We'll also have an aura reader, so if anyone is interested in that that will be a lot of fun to start the night off," Maczuzak said. The Junior League of Denver's The Journey Moonlight Masquerade is Friday, March 7, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Rafael Sánchez back on the air at Fox59 and CBS4 after one-year hiatus from television
One year after he left his on-air home of more than 25 years at WRTV-6, Rafael Sánchez is back in front of the camera for Fox59 and CBS4. The veteran Indianapolis journalist and longtime co-anchor of WRTV's "Good Morning Indiana" left his post at the Indianapolis area's ABC affiliate last February. But due to a noncompete clause, the Franklin College alum could not appear on Fox59/CBS4 for a year and thus spent months working behind the scenes at his new job. On Monday morning, Sánchez announced in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that his non-compete contract had expired and that he would return to the screen for a consumer-focused segment dubbed Call Rafael. Sánchez will also co-anchor Fox59's 4 p.m. newscast First at Four with Alia Blackburn starting Monday, he announced. Blackburn's former co-host, longtime Fox59 anchor Nick McGill, announced last week that he will anchor the 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts until he leaves the station at the end of February. 'We are thrilled to welcome Rafael back to Indiana television, and more importantly, back into the homes of Hoosiers who have trusted him for years,' Fox59 news director CJ Hoyt said in a statement. 'His passion for investigative reporting and dedication to serving the community aligns perfectly with our mission at FOX59. Rafael's impact is undeniable, and we know he will continue to be a powerful advocate for the people of Indiana.'
