Gurgaon: Four Delhi residents were arrested for allegedly assaulting a group of riders and smashing a high-end sports bike with a baseball bat near Dwarka Expressway in the city early on Sunday morning. Gurgaon police said the four men, all residents of Uttam Nagar in Delhi, were arrested near Kherki Daula toll plaza on Tuesday. Complainant Hardik Sharma (27), a software developer working in the city, told cops that the black Scorpio started tailing the group "aggressively". "We pulled over to avoid any conflict, but they stopped too… They began abusing us, tried to pull off our helmets, and hit us. I even apologised for something I didn't do, but they started swinging a baseball bat at me," Hardik said in the complaint. He was treated for injuries to his thigh, wrist and hands. Hardik alleged that the men also brandished knives and threatened to kill them. The four then turned on his Kawasaki Z900 — valued at Rs 8-9 lakh — and smashed it with the baseball bat. The software engineer submitted videos captured from a GoPro camera mounted on one of the rider's bikes. Footage from the camera shows two men trying to pull off a biker's helmet and hitting him on the head, one after the other, while hurling abuses. Police said on Tuesday the assailants were out on a drive when the scuffle ensued. They have been charged under sections 351(3) (criminal intimidation), 324(3) (use of deadly weapons), 3(5) (common intention), 281 (rash driving), 126 (wrongful restraint) and 115 (endangering life) of BNS. "Further questioning is underway and we are examining video evidence," a police officer said.
