Brooklyn accused killer confesses to slitting girlfriend's throat with 2 knives: DA
A Brooklyn man who walked into an upstate police stationhouse to confess he'd killed his girlfriend told cops he used two knives to slit her throat, prosecutors revealed.
John Roseau, 32, stepped into a Buffalo police precinct stationhouse Thursday and told cops that 26-year-old Dahana Jean was dead in her home on New York Ave. near E. 33rd St. in Midwood, according to law enforcement sources
Police officers went to check on her about 8 p.m. Thursday and found her dead in the basement.
Her cause of death was an 'incised wound' to her neck, according to a criminal complaint. The complaint alleges Roseau admitted to slitting her throat with two knives.
Roseau, of Flatbush, was charged with murder and weapon possession Friday at Brooklyn's 63rd Precinct stationhouse.
He was arraigned Saturday in Brooklyn Criminal Court and ordered held without bail.
His lawyer did not return messages seeking comment Sunday.
Jean's body was found in a single-room apartment in the basement of the two-family home, a tenant told the Daily News. Her father used to rent the room but had recently died, with Jean sometimes staying in his room since his death.
'She stays here sometimes but this was temporary,' said the neighbor, Patrick Joseph. Jean also stayed at Roseau's home in Flatbush, Joseph said.
