Educator Honor Roll: Todd McDonald, Walter Jackson Elementary School
DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — Many teachers across the Tennessee Valley go above and beyond for their students, and we want to recognize them — with our Education Honor Roll! This week, we want to introduce you to Todd McDonald, the librarian at Walter Jackson Elementary School. Those who nominated McDonald said he is so intentional with each and every kid and makes sure to know each of the children by name. Educator Honor Roll: Tassie Ashley, Flintville Elementary School 'He always takes the time to involve them [the kids] in STEM learning, making education both fun and engaging,' the nominators said. They said he has a passion for education and the genuine care McDonald has for the students is 'unmatched.' They said he is not just the librarian, he is a mentor, a role model and a true hero in the school community. We visited Mr. McDonald at the school and you can watch his story above.
