In the statement posted to the band's Instagram page, Regan wrote that on Jan. 24, 'Dave suffered a brain hemorrhage and underwent two subsequent surgeries to save his life. Flogging Molly's Dave King Suffered Brain Hemorrhage and Underwent Life-Saving Surgery

The post Flogging Molly's Dave King Suffered Brain Hemorrhage and Underwent Life-Saving Surgery appeared first on Consequence. Last month, Flogging Molly canceled all their upcoming tour dates as it was announced that frontman Dave King was 'battling a very serious health condition.' Now, the punk band has revealed that the singer-guitarist suffered a brain hemorrhage in late January and underwent life-saving surgery. Bridget Regan, King's wife and Flogging Molly bandmate, shared the update on the band's official Facebook page, revealing that following the surgery, King spent two weeks in a coma. The vocalist is currently in recovery, but Regan notes that her husband's future remains 'uncertain.' The full statement from Regan reads as follows: 'Hi everyone, I've wanted to reach out for some time, but it was necessary to wait until we were safely out of the woods first. On January 24th, Dave suffered a brain hemorrhage and underwent two subsequent surgeries to save his life. He then spent two weeks in a coma, followed by varying stages of treatment and recovery. On February 28th he underwent yet another surgery and I now feel confident we are on the other side of this. He is now entering into the next phase of his recovery and wants nothing more than to play music again. The road ahead is uncertain but we, as ever, will roll with the punches and hope to see you all in the near future. I'd like to thank Dave's neurosurgeon, Mr. Kieron Sweeney and his amazing team at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin. Thank you. Thank you for saving my husband's life. To all of the nurses and staff in both St. Brigid's and Richmond Wards, thank you. Your extraordinary level of care was also integral to him being where he is today. To friends and family whose support was unwavering throughout this ordeal, a heartfelt thank you. And a special thanks to everyone who sent well wishes and messages of support. Please look after each other and tell your people you love them. Life can change in an instant. Until we meet again, Bridget' Flogging Molly had been scheduled to launch a US tour on February 24th in St. Petersburg, Florida. The outing was set to lead up to the band's three-day 'Shamrock Rebellion' celebration in three cities (Las Vegas, Tempe, and Los Angeles) over St. Patrick's Day weekend. All of those dates were canceled due to King's health emergency. Here's hoping that Dave King makes a full recovery. See Bridget Regan's post on Flogging Molly's Facebook page below. Flogging Molly's Dave King Suffered Brain Hemorrhage, Spent Two Weeks in Coma

Flogging Molly frontman Dave King suffered a brain hemorrhage and spent two weeks in a coma earlier this year, according to a new statement from his wife and bandmate, Bridget Regan. In a post shared on Flogging Molly's social media pages, Regan offered new details about her husband's recent health crisis, which forced the band to put their performance plans on hold indefinitely. At the time, Flogging Molly said only that King was 'battling a very serious health condition' and that they would share details when they could. He then spent two weeks in a coma, she added, 'followed by varying stages of treatment and recovery.' Most recently, on Feb. 28, King 'underwent yet another surgery,' with Regan saying she now felt 'confident we are on the other side of this.' She continued: 'He is now entering into the next phase of his recovery and wants nothing more than to play music again. The road ahead is uncertain but we, as ever, will roll with the punches and hope to see you all in the near future.' Regan went on to thank King's neurosurgeon and all the medical professionals who've looked after him over the past few months. 'Your extraordinary level of care was also integral to him being where he is today,' she said. Ending her note, Regan said: 'To friends and family whose support was unwavering throughout this ordeal, a heartfelt thank you. And a special thanks to everyone who sent well wishes and messages of support. Please look after each other and tell your people you love them. Life can change in an instant.' King's hemorrhage forced Flogging Molly to miss their four-day Salty Dog Cruise festival, which set sail last month (the 2026 iteration is already on the books for next October). The band's headlining tour, which was set to begin on Feb. 24 in St. Petersburg, Florida, was also canceled. Flogging Molly calls off tour due to frontman Dave King's ‘very serious health condition'

Flogging Molly, the Celtic punk band that formed in L.A. in the '90s, is calling off its 2025 shows so frontman Dave King and his bandmate wife, Bridget Regan, can deal with what the group described as a 'very serious health condition.' That means a host of shows on the band's Road to Rebellion tour, including a St. Patrick's Day gig planned at the Hollywood Palladium, are off the table. Other shows had been scheduled for the southeastern and southwestern U.S. and in Austria, Belgium, France and Switzerland. 'Our fearless leader, the inimitable Dave King, is currently battling a very serious health condition. Dave and Bridget ask everyone to respect their privacy at this time, we will share as we can. Any good thoughts or prayers you can send Dave's way, he and we would appreciate it,' the band said Wednesday in a statement on social media. No details were given about the 63-year-old rocker's condition. The band simply said it was 'unable to perform' this year. The other five band members, however, will show up as planned for a five-day nautical jaunt in less than two weeks, embarking in Miami and stopping on Grand Cayman island and in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. The Flogging Molly's Salty Dog Cruise 2025 boasts 18 other bands onboard, including Circle Jerks and the Gaslight Anthem, plus DJs and professional skateboarders. Band members said in the statement that they will be there 'to celebrate the cruise, the community and our captain, Dave King.' Flogging Molly was famously named in recognition of Molly Malone's Irish Pub on Fairfax Avenue, where the members first came together and which supported the band in its infancy. King was born in Dublin but eventually came to Los Angeles, meeting Regan and other band members and for a time struggling with his own immigration status. 'When I was living in L.A., there was a period when I couldn't get to Ireland, I had a problem with my visa,' King told The Times in 2017, partially explaining how a Celtic punk rock band manifests in the first place. 'And the band were just starting to get out of Molly Malone's; we were starting to tour the West Coast. So it really reinforced in me, the time I couldn't leave, how much Irish music meant to me. 'I said to myself, if I can't physically go back home, I've got to go back musically — but in my own way, with what I've learned growing up.' He added, 'As a child I never saw things politically; I didn't see the future, or that things would get better. But touring around, I'm very proud every time we go back to Ireland now to see the optimism, the celebration of life.'

Flogging Molly cancels 2025 tour due to singer Dave King's 'serious health condition'

Flogging Molly cancels 2025 tour due to singer Dave King's 'serious health condition' Flogging Molly is canceling over 30 performances scheduled for North America and Europe this year due to lead singer Dave King's "very serious health condition." "To our family, friends and fans, our fearless leader, the inimitable Dave King, is currently battling a very serious health condition. Dave and Bridget ask everyone to respect their privacy at this time, we will share as we can," the Celtic punk band announced on its social media channels Wednesday. "Any good thoughts or prayers you can send Dave's way, he and we would appreciate it." "Unfortunately Flogging Molly will be unable to perform shows in 2025," the statement continued. However, other band members will still partake in Flogging Molly's Salty Dog Cruise, scheduled to set sail from Miami Feb. 17 and journey to the Cayman Islands and Jamaica over the course of the week. The six-day cruise will serve as a celebration of "our captain, Dave King." "With the Salty Dog Cruise 12 days away, the boat will sail as planned with 18 bands, and members of Flogging Molly, on board to celebrate the cruise, the community and our captain, Dave King," the post reads. The group was scheduled to kick off its Road to Rebellion Tour, with special guests The Aggrolites and Slaughterhouse, on Feb. 24 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Tour stops were planned for Richmond, Virginia; Houston; Albuquerque; Las Vegas and Los Angeles. In June, they were to journey to Europe, where headline shows and festival appearances were scheduled for Austria, France, Germany and the Netherlands, among other countries. They were also scheduled to appear at Rock La Cauze in Québec on Aug. 8. Supporting act The Aggrolites sent their well wishes after Flogging Molly's announcement and wrote in a Wednesday Instagram post: "Out hearts to out to our family in Flogging Molly. It has just been announced that their fearless leader, the inimitable Dave King, is currently battling a very serious health condition. Please send Dave and the whole Flogging Molly family your good thoughts and prayers."
