Florence Bank awards $150K to 40 local nonprofits

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Florence Bank, Tuesday night, split $150,000 between 40 local nonprofits as part of their annual customers' choice community grants program reception. The grants program was founded in 2002, which allows customers of the bank to vote for their favorite local non-profits in the hope that they receive a piece of the funding. To qualify for a grant, recipients must receive 50 votes to be eligible. Last year, over 7-thousand votes were cast, making 40 nonprofits eligible for a grant. Cancer Connection in Northampton received the highest award on Tuesday, of $5,000. NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Dozens of local non-profits were recognized Tuesday evening for their contributions to the community. Northampton firefighters called to over 650 incidents last month It was all part of the 23rd annual Customers' Choice Community Grants event. Florence Bank hosted the award ceremony at the Garden House at Look Memorial Park in Northampton. Forty leaders of non-profits from the Pioneer Valley were awarded a total of $150,000. This program is an annual initiative in which Florence Bank customers vote for their favorite local non-profit to receive funding. So far, they have distributed about $1.5 million. 'These are often organizations scratching and clawing for funding to support really important missions that they are doing. So, what we love about this is that the money we are donating really impacts these organizations in a meaningful way,' said President and CEO of Florence Bank, Matt Garrity. Some of the organizations awarded this evening included the TJO Adoption Center, Northampton Survival Center, and Dakin Humane Society. Florence Bank promotes Amanda Constantilos to Branch Manager in Northampton

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – Florence Bank has announced the promotion of Amanda Constantilos of Belchertown to manager of its King Street branch, highlighting her nearly two decades of experience in the banking industry. Constantilos began her career at Florence Bank in 2016 as a senior teller and has since held roles including teller operations manager at the Granby branch, as well as customer service representative and assistant branch manager in Hadley. She officially stepped into her new leadership role in May. Marketing veteran Nick Papachristou appointed to Berkshire South Board of Trustees With 19 years of experience in banking, Constantilos is recognized for her strengths in customer service, communication, problem-solving, and employee development. In her new position, Constantilos will lead the King Street branch's operations and team development efforts, with a focus on both customer relationships and community involvement. 'I will make sure our customers feel welcome and taken care of from the moment they walk in,' she said. 'It's about building real relationships and helping our community with big and small needs.' Florence Bank President and CEO Matt Garrity praised Constantilos for her continued commitment to the bank's mission. 'We appreciate Amanda's dedication to our customers, and we are proud to see her growing as a bank leader,' Garrity said.
