1 identified, 6 injured in Florence nightclub shooting on Mother's Day, coroner says
Editor's Note: This story has been revised to correct the number of people who were injured with gunshot wounds. FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A Florence man has been identified after a deadly shooting at a Florence nightclub on Mother's Day, the Florence County Coroner's Office said. Melvin Anthony Gibson, 39, died after the shooting that took place around 3 a.m. on Sunday at Qulture Bistro, the coroner's office said. Six other people were injured with gunshot wounds. Officials said a disturbance broke out ahead of the shooting and that it happened in the parking lot of the nightclub. No further information was available at the time of this posting. Woman identified in Interstate 95 crash in Florence County, coroner says
FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — One woman was identified after a fatal crash on Interstate 95 just outside of Florence, the Florence County Coroner's Office said. Grace Wellman, 79, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, died on Tuesday. She was the passenger in an involved vehicle. Two others were also injured as a result of the crash. It happened just before 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday at mile marker 164, about three miles outside of Florence. A motor home was hit by a Ford Explorer that were both traveling southbound, Lance Cpl. Lena Butler said. Authorities said earlier in the day a vehicle fire was blocking all lanes of traffic near where the wreck happened. * * * Jordan White is a Digital Producer at News13.
