New Florida bill proposes stricter regulations on Kratom
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A bill was filed in Florida that would require stricter regulations regarding the sale and distribution of Kratom products.
The new bill, HB 1489, amends the Florida Kratom Consumer Protection Act by providing requirements surrounding the sale of Kratom products, allowing only certain businesses to sell Kratom products at retail, instilling stricter licensing qualifications, and declaring specific Kratom products as contraband.
This amendment also adds additional requirements for online sales and ordering kratom products to be delivered via mail.
The bill would revise the criminal penalties for failing to comply with the new requirements as well.
